Grills are overrated
Cold searing steak on a ceramic pan is peak

Looks a bit rare for me, but glad you like it. I kind of think your sear look solidly even and deliciously seasoned. I notice no steak sauce was needed, too.
>>
>>20980166
this shit looks stringy as fuck, the pan is not the issue here
>>
>>20980171
Thank you! Yeah I'm not crazy about sauce in general
>>20980175
It's low quality steak from Walmart, I just got a new pan and wanted to make sure I got everything right before buying high quality meat
>>

Is it the lighting or is there actually a really nice thick crust? Looks almost like brisket crust.
>>
>>20980193
Very thick crust, I poured the seasonings on it with the salt then let it sit in the fridge and sink in for a couple hours, then I put it on the pan at a super high temperature, flipped it to the other side, moved it to a much lower temp burner and kept flipping it every couple minutes. The crust gets hard and crunchy

Fair enough, I'd give tips on how to cook steaks in a pan but judging from the crust and color alone, you don't need them

I just started dry brining the shitty cuts I buy to make em more tender. Game changer. I always was told don't salt the thing until you're cooking it, but fuck that

Ceramic is my go to. Mine always said metal utensils are safe to use but fuck that. I keep it pristine and smooth.

>dry brining
Hmmm, I should try this

>>20980644
Yum! That looks perfect to me.
>>
>>20980682
It actually was very good, especially for a cheap strip cut
>>
>>20980644
younger gourds dont have as fibrous of seeds and are overall better
>>

They were very young/ small. Squash almost always looks like that. Plus delicious

>cold searing
Based. Straight from the fridge to the pan. If it's a really thin cut, straight from the freezer
