Why did Pears never catch on in terms of popularity like apples did?They're very similar, but a Pear is usually sweeter.

Some are fat and stubby and others have the top part elongated making them even more ungainly, nit to mention this style of pair lays down awkwardly on a surface instead of nice and upright. I like both personally, but there is definitely a psychological aspect at play here as to why people don't like pears as much.
