Oriental flavor bros, we lost…
>>
>>21077719
I don't understand this one. What about the Oriental buffets?
>>
>>21077738
They are now called soy buffets
>>
still tastes good to me
>>

It tastes the exact same

I thought shrimp ramen gets the most hate
>>
I just made ramen but forgot to put the flavoring packet in and didn't notice the difference until I had drained off most of the soup using bread ama

When it should be chicken, which is strangely the most popular of them all.

BARF!

The only one worse than chicken is creamy chicken or tomato.
Beef, shrimp, and oriental are still the best of the cheap ramens.

I’m mulling over spending $10 on one of those square made to fix ramen cooker microwave bowls for when I am just that godamn fucking lazy to boil.

It is that and buy cheap ramen packages or splurg or get them in a cup (now in less obvious cancer causing styrofoam paper!). From my calculations it would take eating roughly 100 cup versions to break even. On the flip side, zero clean up.

What do you guys think?
>>
>>21078532
I think you should cook and eat real food you fat fuck. And lose the weeb video game art.
Put all of your energy to do stupid calculations on saving pennies on junk food and learn to cook simple meals that are healthy. Or die early.
>>
>>21078495
While I agree that beef is superior to chicken in terms of cheap ramen, I don't see why you're so opposed to the chicken flavor. Nissin's is fine, although the beef is still better. Break it down for me.
>>
>>21078571
>Put the energy into calculations
There is a ten cent difference between the two. The ramen bowl is $10. If that took you longer then .3 seconds to solve you’re a fucking retard. Also stop projecting. It is an instant ramen threads. It isn’t going to get you laid chubbo
>>
>>21077719
i swear it tastes different now too those fucking yellow chink bastards fucking changed the name to soy sauce then changed the flavor and now oriental is lost forever
fuck em

Soy sauce flavor is actually the best of all the most common flavors (which seems to be chicken, beef, shrimp, soy). Sometimes I take out the seasoning packet and use other spices for the noodles, then save the flavor for adding a shot of soy sauce flavor to things without adding liquid.
>>
>>21078532
I recently got an electric kettle and it's great.
>>
>>21077719
Is this for people who don't have soy sauce?
>>
>>21078470
What brand? I used to like eating Top Ramen blocks uncooked as a kid (back when the quality was better) so I can see ramen flavor ramen being okay
>>
>>21078589
Are the ingredients any different?
I think it's funny that a Japanese company was like "yeah name it fucking 'chink/gook/slant/zipperhead oriental bing-bong sideways-pussy delight' or whatever the fuck... oh wait people are upset just pretend it was called soy sauce all along."

It's incongruent with asian cuisine. There'd never be some milky fucking chicken noodle dish. It's just as retarded as the mac and cheese one. Where's the parmesan alfredo ramen? We should all be astounded that there's not a creamy ranch ramen yet. I'm sure that would be your favorite. Disgusting pig.
>>
>>21077898
wait so just like that my neighbors up the road are the Millers and my neighbors down the road are the soy sauces?
>>
>>21078694
Top ramen. I did mine all fancy with garlic and pickled jalapeno toasted in sesame oil with paprika and added extra soy sauce at the end. It tasted stunningly like the flavoring packet wasn't even needed.

>>
>>21078532
I just cook the ramen in the same bowl I plan on eating it out of. A square plastic dish that accomplishes the same thing never made much sense to me. Just use a regular ceramic bowl.

>>

And that's why it's not a real cuisine, unlike Italian, which real men enjoy
>>
>>21077719
One name is preferable to the other, and conjures a better flavor in imagination at least. I prefer Oriental Flavor. It is much more appealing to me. "Soy Flavor" sounds like something I would want to avoid while Oriental Flavor sounds like something unique and beautifully flavored.
One sells, the other does not.
-
I don't eat this, but I believe I tried it before and liked it. Still, I prefer to stay away from this.

NTA but the flavor of chicken ramen reminds of actual vomit. But I also hate the flavor of chicken bouillon. Even bottled chicken stock has the same gross taste. I don't know what the flavor is from either because when I make my own stock it does not have the gross flavor.

So compared to pic related, how is this? Is it just spicy ramen? Does it have a certain meat taste to it?
>>
>>21077738
The word oriental makes white people uncomfortable because it's vaguely racist, because it...erm..it just is okay. My grandpa says it so it has to be

Nevermind how many Asians use the term themselves
>>
>>21077719
To be fair this is a smarter name. Like the fuck is Oriental flavor supposed to mean? Soy sauce is much more clear.
>>
>>21080276
Ramen sounds more like real food and is less sad to cook and consume.
>>
>>21081970
Oriental means east Asia, from the Latin oriri (to rise) referring to the direction the sun comes from

I'm aware of what the word means, retard. I'm saying it doesn't describe a flavor very well considering ramen in general is fucking Asian. Asian flavor Asian food is what that name is basically saying.

Creamy gratin chicken ramen
>>
>>21081956
It is completely different. The thing in your picture is next to flavorless. The modern brands sold in Asia have updated and they put much more effort into making the actual soup powder from a richer more quality soup with many ingredients and flavors.
>>
>>21082707
Onion chicken is their best flavor
>>
>>21081956
Thicker noodles that seem of better quality and flavor. The spice packet is of a syrupy consistency and therefore mixes better. There's also a second packet of dried flakes you mix in also, and the contents vary depending on what flavor you bought.
Just had my first two packs over the weekend, the black bean jjajjang and original flavor. Both were really good. Broke a soft fried egg over the original for breakfast and it was divine. I'd like to mail order a stockpile from an online Korean market but I don't know which one to use, I don't trust Amazon to deliver food stuffs anymore.

Not that funny considering the majority of Japanese people are descended from Han Chinese settlers. Japanese kanji is also an adaptation of whatever Chinese were using to write 1500 years ago.

Ramen is considered a Chinese food in Japan. That's like saying the west "copied" sushi because they have sushi restaurants.

not sure about the cup ones, but the brick version comes with a separate spice packet so you can just omit that and just use the base packet.
