What's the weirdest sandwich you had to make
>>
>>21081251
for me, it was a McChicken
>>
>>21081251
Their breakfast sandwiches are not the worst thing I’ve ever tasted.
I didn’t feel great eating it, but it was damn cheap.
>>
>>21081254
That is weird, because it's a burger
>>
>>21081258
They were definitely better than Subway "pizza", and you could actually make some kino combinations since all the normal veggies were available.
>egg, bacon, & cheese toasted on flatbread with tomato, onions, black olives, banana peppers, and mayo
But it's all moot since the demise of $5 footlong.
>>
>>21081251
>workers
It's sandwich artists
>>
>>21081251
I worked at one over the summer like a decade ago and some guy came in hurriedly saying he needed just a loaf of bread. I told him I wasn't sure if I had a way to ring that up and I'd need to go get the manager, and he said never mind and just had me ring it up as a sandwich with everything removed. Does that count? Nobody else asked for anything remotely weird the entire rest of the time I worked there.
>>
>>21081251
retired Sandwich Artist™ here. we didn't have nearly as much shit on the menu in my day, and for bread we just had white and wheat and we had bulkie rolls.

I can't remember anything too weird, except a lady ordered a cheese sandwich once and I had no clue how to make that so I just threw a few pieces of cheese on it and she ended up complaining because she was a fucking cunt
>>
>>21081281
>saying he needed just a loaf of bread
why not just go to gocery store
>>
>>21081287
How do you fuck up a bread and cheese wich? Did you put the cheese outside?
>>
>>21081281
>can I get a just a loaf of bread? Yeah no just bill me for a whole sandwich and give me the bread. Just. The. Bread. Bro.
>>
>>21081287
Sounds like you're the fucking cunt for not knowing how to make one.

The nearest grocery store would have been around a mile away and I have no idea if he came on foot or by car. He might have walked out of an office building from down the street for all I know. He was clearly in a hurry, so I didn't think it was weird that he just came to the nearest place that had bread, I just wondered why he needed emergency bread in the first place. Never asked though. Oh well.
>>
>>21081295
>>21081301
I put 4 wedges of cheese on it (for a bulkie roll we would put two normally) and even though I was adding more than I would normally it still felt kind of wrong. I rang it up as a veggie sandwich (no veggies though). She complained to my boss later that there should have been at least 8 if not 10 wedges of cheese on it. how the fuck was I supposed to know I was 15 and that shit isn't on the menu

>>
>>21081251
I didn't work at a Subway but I worked in a deli for a year and the job was 50% making sandwiches.
I didn't get too many weird sandwiches, boomers ordering liverwurst sandwiches would disgust the girls who worked there but that's about it.
One time a lady ordered two Italian hoagies and took and paid for them only to call the next day and say she wanted two sandwiches on Kaiser rolls and we fucked it up. The manager was the owners daughter who was training to take over and sucked at her job so she went off and screamed at the girl who made it until she quit on the spot.
Whenever anyone would make the slightest mistake that manage would rage out and write a super long note and pin it to a wall and insist we sign it. For this one she said we had to write down every order on paper, verify it with the customer, and save it for a week lmao. I wish I had a photo of the stuff she would freak out about it.

>>

I worked at an all night gas station that made subs, right next to a bar in a rural area so I saw a healthy mix of welfare queens and drunks. The absolute worst thing I made was a regular sub that the disgusting wench asked for extra extra mayo. When I was done I had squirted at least two whole subway style condiment squirt bottles of mayo onto it. I'll never forget it, and she was a regular. Bug eyed obese wellie (my dad's pet term for welfare queens).
Another one was a chicken salad sub with BBQ sauce on it.
The last was a guy that ordered a pizza with no cheese because of an allergy.
>>
>>21081273
They were good when they used to cook the eggs in front of you. And you got more. It was 4 or 6 eggs per footlong.
>>
>>21081948
that's pretty good lmao
>>
seafood sensation with cheese, and toasted

when I worked there I liked putting steak and cheese on a sub with a healthy portion of marinara, and also getting the onions and green peppers mixed in before it gets put in the oven, so they get cooked too. those were delicious. i actually want one now, wtf
>>
>>21081480
the status of burger vs sandwich is determined by the bread.
burgers have burger buns.
sandwiches have flat slices of bread.
>>
>>21083519
>seafood sensation with cheese, and toasted
but anon that's a good sandwich. back in my day we called it "Seafood & Crab".

yeah I was there for the v-cut of course, and we weren't toasting subs yet although many ingredients we would heat up in the microwave, including the entire subway melt sandwich (bread & meat, prior to adding veggies of course). the menu was simple, the sandwiches were simple. worked in a small town shop and had all the same regulars. it was a simpler time.

I don't remember that at all. I never recall a Subway employee "cooking" anything beyond putting a sandwich in the toaster oven and pressing the "on" button with a pre-programmed time. Where would a Subway employee even cook the eggs? They don't have a griddle, were they microwaving them? No, the Subway breakfast eggs were always pre-formed portions from the same factory that produced the "tuna" mystery goop.

I worked at Subway when I was 15, it was actually one of my first job. Even when someone ordered something "weird" it wasn't really that that weird. Weirdest one was this lady who was ordering subs for the whole family, one of her kids wanted white cheddar, onions and mayonnaise only on plain white, toasted, and cut into quarters instead of halved. I only worked there for a year so I never got to see orders more ridiculous than that one.
>>
why does subway have such an odd fuckin way of ordering. Multiple times ive asked for a pre existing sandwich off the menu and then they immediately ask me what kind of sandwich I want. It honestly took me a couple visits before I noticed their dumb little flow chart and realized they were asking about bread, because ive totally asked for a “whole wheat sandwich before” Even after that they still hit me with what meat and cheese I want, even though asked for the godamn roast beef sandwich that is pictured right behind their head. At that point I gave up tried to match it the best I could by choosing ingredients but holy shit, why do they put those examples up just to yank yer dick around like that?

I don't remember the measurements anymore but after squeezing all the whater our of the tuna there was a certain number of ounces of choona. Kind of hard to determine if it's 50/50 (based on volume vs. weight etc). But yeah it may have been about that. But that makes a pretty delicious sandwich even if it's full of fat

If this is in the US it's been illegal to have expiration dates on gift cards for longer than that, you should still be able to redeem (ask first, the shop may not be able to use it but corporate still has to find a way to honor it). And yes you can still get a salad at the 'way
>>
>>21081391
Subway uses larger bread, so the cheese to bread ratio would have to be higher.

>are you questioning my integrity or hers?
Yours. You just needed a second part to make yourself look better because you obviously care too much about the opinions of a bunch of randos in a mongolian threat singing forum

the deli style loaf is like an hamburger bun, it's bigger in a sense but it's also all air. In any case she was ordering a cheese sandwich for a fucking 3yo. i'm so sorry she had slightly less shit to clean up out of the baby seat later

I've never worked at a subway, but anyways one night just before closing I asked for a footlong meatball sub on an italian herb and cheese.
So the 'sandwich artist' starts putting on the meatballs and says sorry, there's only enough for half the sandwich.
So I had her make the other half a tuna melt, smelled weird, tasted delicious.
>>
>>21088357
improvise, adapt, overcome

you had a great sandwich I reckon
>>

She also had quite the perplexed look on her face when I said "tuna melt".

Why did subway remove fresh mozzarella?
Why did Subway enable a pedophile?
>>
>>21088382
don't be glib anon, THEY NEVER DID THAT

the fresh mozzarella I mean. it was always dry/grated.
>>
>>21088382
qrd?

look up "subway jared". also Subway™ had nothing to do with any of it.

the mozzarella debacle is a whole 'nother thing
>>
>>21088458
early last year subway committed to fresh sliced meats and such, offering good mozzarella
it must have ended quickly because i never found a location that had it

I worked at subway. Weirdest thing was anytime anyone ordered the "crab". You couldn't pay me to eat that. Btw it comes in blobs and we have to mush it apart with our hands and mix with mayo to make the sludge. It contains no real crab, to my knowledge.

I worked at subway for 2 years and the only "weird" sandwich I can really remember was a lady who wanted me to crush up some chips and put it in the sandwich

I made a meatball cookie and onion sub once for my employee meal out of abject boredom and I got through half of it before throwing it out

The good stories involves the customers themselves. One time a woman wanted just tuna on her sandwich and I put 2 scoops of tuna on it and she asked if I was retarded

There was also a weeklong incident where a guy would order a buffalo chicken footlong with every topping every day and once he got to the register he'd ask if we take EBT and walk out

I used to work in a major city so I have a lot of stories involving homeless schitzos and the like
>>
>>21089175
What did the tuna lady expect to get if not tuna in her sandwich?

Also skip on the schizo stories, I've experienced more than enough of those.

>>start getting weirded out at the indian chick who's being obscenely nice to me and move to a different subway
she wanted to poo in your loo if you know what I mean
>>
>>21081251
I used to work for this old Indian guys subway and whenever we had a huge line he would shout "MOVE the line!" like an army seargent or something. He also made sure we skipped on the olives (I guess because they were expensive) and I used to give customers a hard time about it jokingly.
>>
>>21089380
Skimped on the olives*
>>
>>21089175
Isn't crushed chips a thing? Maybe more in burgerland? Never done or seen it myself but I saw a bunch of youtube videos that does that and I was like "huh so that is a thing"
>>
>>21089363
It was my first week and I think maybe I wasn't scooping out enough per scoop? My coworker said I did fine and she was just being an asshole. Some people think they know better than the wagie behind the counter

>>21089543
It is a thing but it's not on the menu or anything so it just stood out to me. Crushed doritos on the cold cut was my go to employee meal for a while as a guilty pleasure thing. It's like a 7/10.

Ironically right before I quit they introduced these fried crispy bits that you're supposed to shovel on the sandwich. Idk if it's a burgerland only thing or not but they're kind of disgusting
>>
>>21089380
What's up with Indians and owning a subway franchise? When I worked there it was me and about 5 Indians and they're the chillest people I've ever worked with. I lucked out with my boss because he would bring me butter chicken and home cooked biryani a few times during super long double shifts. It's partly why I stuck with the job for so long
>>
>>21089776
Subway is one of the cheapest franchises to open up. I guess they used to be profitable when subway was still a big thing but now it seems dead.

I've been saving so much money the last couple months by not ordering any takeout or delivery from anywhere. Even hungover I've learned the secret to stopping myself from doing it: just imagine the filthy kitchens, contamination, pests, and horrible secrets they're keeping. Every place around me is thurdie food which makes it even more reprehensible. So many times I've gotten a delivery order all the way up to checkout and just, no. I can't do it anymore.

Looked it up and I highly doubt Higher ups at subway had no idea. Diddling kids was basically a second job for him

Also it seems people are still buying his book lol

he was a spokesman which means he did a commercial a couple times a year and went to some corporate events. probably worked about 100 hours in an entire year for Subway. nothing about his personal life and behaviors would have had any crossover with subway at all. even at my job where I work 50-60 hours a week, nobody knows I diddle adults in my spare time

i've worked with people like this, she probably thought she was the only one keeping the place running as well. The worst I've had was a wheelchair-bound lady who'd shittalk everyone behind their back and check their till balance when closing over their shoulder so she could snitch to management if someone fucked up.
>>
>>21094752
This is sadly more common than it should be. Especially when you have the older women getting jealous of the young women and they comment on their clothes, make up complete lies about them and basically try to force you to pick a side through some insane power moves like trying to make you carry their purse to the office or whatever.
>>
>>21094777
In shit-tier jobs that aren't manual labour most people I've met love shitting on each other for sport, it's never been limited to women despite how over-represented they are in those jobs, I've seen guys do this plenty as well for the exact same things you said. I really don't understand it, mean gossip and power-moves only make you look like a retard to management and limit your conversation partners to people who do this kind of shit. This guy I worked with berated the younger guys that hooked up with the summer hires but I'd see him try and do the exact same shit when we all went out to our bar after work every Sunday, despite having a
unfairly hot
wife and kids. I saw him crash and burn every Sunday for a year, great guy to work with though.

You're very right that bitches make you do stuff for them too often though, I was raised in an Asian household and have been programmed to respect matronly type authority, this one woman nearing retirement age caught onto it quick and basically made me do her job for the year I was there.
>>
>>21084916
people love a quiet regular, I used to get coffee and cake for breakfast on the way to work every day at the same place and after a month or so I'd have my order waiting for me when I got there (tied to train schedule so always the same time to the minute), often with a freebie or two. The thing I loved most about it was once this became the norm I never had to interact with anyone there again, I'd get there, give a nod and smile to my usual waitress, sit down for breakfast and leave 5 minutes later without a word. When I moved to another city I left a fat tip under my cup but forgot to tell her I wouldn't be coming back starting next week, still feel guilty that she probably still put out my order for a few days afterwards.

If only all interactions in my life went so smoothly, I hate smalltalk and just want to pay for my stuff and be left in peace.
