I assume some people got a meme fryer for Christmas or maybe gifted oneSo what's the best thing to cook in this shit? Seems convenient for single meals but every recipe I see on websites looks really basic
>>21082579How did you know? You must have ESPN or something.
>>21082579You must be a huge fucking faggot in real life.
>>21082579wings & tator tots
>>21082579It's a small oven.
>>21082579Frozen hash brown patties are great in those
>>21082669Ignore this faggot, he doesn't actually cook. >>21082579Anything you want to crisp up, be it a frozen potato product to wings/chicken/fried seafood. Anything frozen that is fried? It goes into the air fryer, and will be better than any oven. You can also roast veg in them as well. Don't use them as an actual oven, they will burn stuff that needs even heat in an oven (aka bread and stuff).
>>21082579Hot dogs are surprisingly good in those, they only need 7 or 8 minutes at 400
>>21082809>>21082808>>21082661these shill response can't be for real... you all retard know this is bait right? just like the previous 10 000 times this was poasted
>>21082579its great for roasted whole chicken, just make sure it fits. you may have to spatchcock it. use the tray, and do not use a liner, ever, for anything because that ruins the point
>>21082809Anon it uses hot air to heat the things you put in it.It is exactly like like an oven.
How are ovens with an 'Air Fry' setting? Buying a home that has one, didn't pick the oven myself but hell I'll try anything once. Does it basically work the exact same as the desktop air fryers, just with more capacity?
i found some cheap asparagusrubbed it in oil and spices, did maybe 8 minutes at 400Fit was alright, not sure if i liked how crispy some ends got
>>21082898The only thing that defines an air fryer is "convection oven with higher air speed" which is obviously easier to achieve in a smaller space, also allowing quicker preheating. Can you cook frozen fries in ten minutes?
>>21082579>what's the best thing to cook in this shit?hot dogs.everything is is cooked better a different way.
>>21082579Get a basic fry cutter like this and easily make good fries from scratch, instead of heating up frozen ones, and using just a small amount of oil.
>>21082579sell it if the brand is ching chong
How come these things make people seethe?
Bagged frozen foods like french fries, tots, breaded chicken shapes, etc.
>>21082579chicken
>>21084343OR JUST USE A FUCKING KNIFE YOU RETARDED FAGGOT
>>21082579do americans really?
>>21082669its a toaster oven but 42% more efficient
>>21085724Yes you can just use a knife too, but a cutter is faster and will give all the fries the ideal uniform thickness
>>21082579First of all, this is pretty much the best thing for reheating food. It's also good for the obvious slop (prefried shit). Aside from that, you can use it for anything you use a convection oven for. I personally use mine for bacon most of the time, but mine is wider with a deep tray that catches the grease
>>21082820It's a convection oven, and a really small one at that. That means the hot air blowing in will be blowing directly on your food, creating hot spots and air currents that aren't present in regular ovens. It'll also cook the outside of something way faster than the inside, obviously
>>21085753FUCK UNITASKERS AND FUCK PLASTIC TRASH THAT'S JUST DESIGNED TO WEAR OUT
>>21085801Most of the customer reviews for that particular cutter are happy with its durability, as has been my experience after months of use. The few that have had issues point to the metal cutting blades starting to get bent out of shape, no issues with the plastic parts
Air Fryers are great>B-But it is just a convection oven in a more controlled and smaller space!THAT IS THE POINT! IT IS GREAT! Best things to cook in it are any chopped vegetables, steak reverse sear (if you have a probe thermometer), melting and browning the cheese on top of French onion soup, toasting bread, hell making bread if it is large enough, apparently air fryed imitation crab is amazing but I have not tried it. Anything you can make in an oven you can make better in an air fryer presuming it fits. Also amazing for reheating food you want some crust or crunch to, since microwaves boil the inside of things it isn't good for revitalizing texture. My personal go to is to boil chopped potatoes my microwaving them in water for ~7-8 minutes, draining and tossing (this should create texture on the boiled potatoes which will bake into crunchy outside bits) and then toss in avocado oil and air fry for 20-30 minutes on anything above 350F but not higher than 400F, just go off of how they look. Then I toss them in seasonings and a mix of olive oil and lemon juice and they are amazing,>>21082898Convection Ovens can work as well, but it is easier for the smaller space air fryers to control the temperature and airflow.
>>21084343>>21085830Looks like even the five-star reviewers are having serious problems with it, in picrelated's case after only three uses.
>>21085890Ok well it's anecdotal of course but I can tell you I haven't had that issue, after dozens and dozens of uses and being a big guy who puts a lot of weight and brute force into his potato cutting
>>21085672Because of the insufferably bombastic marketing for what are essentially portable convection ovens. I use one, but I'd just get a regular convection oven if I could.
>>21082579These kind of frozen salmon fillets work well in the air fryer... 10-15 minutes
The best wings I have ever had are the ones I make in my air fryer.SaltPepperBrown sugarSmoked Paprika Mix up in a bowl and cover the wings Cook at 370 for 25 to 28 minutesFinish with your favorite bbq sauce. I like Sweet Baby Ray's Honey
>>21086248No honey?
>>21086248To clarify what I meant >>21086266Why even bother with sweet baby ray if you can just do honey with the mixed dry ingredients?
Another useless appliance. Simply use a regular pot filled no more than 1/4 with vegetable oil, heat on high until the swirls in the oil disappear, then turn the heat down a bit once you add your food.Properly deep fried food will turn out much better than air fried, and won't be as greasy since it wasn't soaking in oil the whole time before you bought it.
>>21086281Dude you've clearly never used a fucking air fryer before in your life if you think it's useless. There's no way you're being serious right now.
I thought the airfryer was going to be my deep fryer replacement in order to eat a little healthier.Turns out it was just hot air.
>>21086383I really hope you don't quit your day job to pursue comedy. We already have enough homeless walking around.
lol
>>21086385If I posted carlos you would've shit yourself.
>>21086413If your parents invested in a condom, I would not have to tolerate underage posts like yours. So now we're all annoyed with your existence.
>>21086416I too get angry at jokes while adulting brother. So grown up.
>>21086425Take your nonsense to /b/.
>>21082579marinade chicken overnight and throw a bunch in here, tasty protein for days
>>21086733What are you using?
Are normal range convection ovens still super noisy? My parents had an older one that sounded like a jet engine.Meanwhile I can barely hear my air fryer.
>>21086771Anon those are two totally different things.
>>21086771To explain what I meant here >>21086772You're basically saying "My parents PC sounds like a jet engine. While I can baely hear my laptop".I'm not comparing actual tech, just pointing out that conventional and air fryers cook things using hot air but they do it differently and in different capacity.Air fryers, you know, fry. Conventional roasts/bakes.Their cooking method is also different and the solution of a "better fan" isn't really a thing since even if somehow there was a "better fan" that didn't sound like a jet engine could potentially cause the fan to work TOO WELL and take longer to cook said thing since you need to consistent heat circulatory system while an air fryer works way faster to give it that fried cripsy texture because it doesn't have to worry about the same capacity and longer term cooking.Even if the conventional oven isn't fully loaded to it's capacity, the oven still needs to get to that point of temp and still needs to have that vent action to compensate so it won't overheat itself.Air fryers don't have to worry about it too much because it's whole thing is much smaller capacity, go as fast as you can. It gets away with that because it's not trying to bake, grill, roast or broil.
I was lukewarm about that thing until I tried cooking chicken breasts in that.It turned out great and I didn't need to add oil.
Pretty much only REALLY useful for seasoning and oiling some potatoes and slicing any way you prefer and throwing them in it. Makes pretty good hotdogs too probably the 2nd best way there is to prepare them really, 1st being charcoal grill of course.
>>21087956Have you ever tried doing other things? At all?
>>21088072No.
>>21084343>>21085753This anon (>>21085724, >>21085801) is right. You are an idiot and a retard for buying into this crap. Learn some knife skills and develop them. Unless you're a professional kitchen that requires vast amounts of fries you don't need that cheap, chinky plastic rubbish. You're better off using the opportunity to cut fries with your knife to increase your skills. Buying that shit is literally why we don't have nice, affordable things anymore.
>>21088196>Unless you're a professional kitchenAnon...Are you...A kitchen...?
>>21082579potatoes
>>21086273Because that's not how I do it.
>>21082579just throw it out
>>21082579>fryersESL pls. It's friers.
>>21082579Anyone experience regret after buying a nicer one? Just used a large combo grill/airfryer for the first time and feel like it’s not much better than what I already had because the big one does the same thing, is going to be ass to clean, and cost $150 ;_;
>>21082579Best thing I've made is crispy pork belly. That shit is fucking great. I like doing "roasted" potatoes or fries as well. Chicken wings. A friend made chocolate chip, oatmeal cookies once and they turned out pretty decent.
I tried to make cheese toast in it but the wind blew the slices off the bread and pushed them into the heating coil, smoked up my whole kitchen.
>>21082579chicken nuggets of various kinds (yes i will call the battered whole pieces of chicken breast chicken nuggets just because they're suitable for adults doesn't mean it gets another name)fishmozzarella stickstiny pizzas are actually a bit better in them as well. counter intuitively since they cook faster they don't turn into stiff discs.
>>21090612they're all cheap though
>>21082579You should follow the killdozer on tiktok, he literally just sticks random shit into his air frier and rates it
>>21085946for you
My airfryer stinks of plastic when I use it, Any tips?
>>21091821that's normal and there's nothing you could do about it. it's never mentioned because people who buy air fryers are cattle who are barely conscious.if you bought it, you should be profoundly ashamed.
>>21082579Chicken breasts, salmon, burgers, but just small portions like 1 or 2. An air fryer is perfect for a single guy. It cooks the fuck out of salmon and chicken breast super quick and juicy. You can reheat anything, like pizza, and comes out great. You can re-air fry french fries, like when you door dash fast food and your fries come stale. Its basically a smaller, more efficient oven. Not sure why its so hard for you morons to understand the uses for it.
im addicted to frozen french fries now that use an air fryer
>>21091579>tiktokI'm not a teenage girl anon...
>>21091928Half of america uses tiktok you stuck up faggot
>>21091940well we can certainly tell you do. calm down, junkie, no one's taking your tiktok from you.
>>21091940imagine defending shittok lmao
>>21091401this.I like toast hawaii and stuff, but I need to fix the cheese with 4 toothpicks, or it flies away...
>>21092363>mmm please mossad tell me exactly what to think and believe I love the taste of your shit
>>21092537what the fuck are you talking aboutpls promptly kys yourself
>>21088196>Learn some knife skills and develop them.WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN KNIFE SKILLS? IT TAKES NO SKILL TO CHOP SHIT DOWN INTO FRIES. THIS ISN'T SOME MICHELIN STAR LEVEL MISE EN PLACE LEVEL CUTTERY FOR FUCKS SAKE.
>>21091546>tiny pizzas are actually a bit better in them as well. counter intuitively since they cook faster they don't turn into stiff discs.Interesting observation, that was always my issue with Bagel Bites but I might have to try them again
>>21082579Air fryers on their own are unfortunately a waste of space. They've had microwaves that can also do an air fry function for a long time now. Anyways, I make my own scratch tallow french fries, and freeze them. Then I finish them in the air fryer for like 7 minutes at 400 degrees and they are perfect every time.
>>21085724Do you even mandolin pleb?
>>21082579picked up a free (low-end) one from work when somebody got fired and didn't come back for it. I don't love it, but every now and then I throw something in there to see what happens. Anything single serve sized that I'd consider throwing in the oven or a frypan will do great in it, I threw half a chook in once and it took longer than the oven - but that is likely my inexperience. if you go all in I assume you can do a lot with it the same way you can do a lot of things pretty well in a microwave if its all you have. I can see it being very useful if you have 3 kids, have a few pots on the go and need to churn out a few bits of dinner in 15 minutes. Doesn't really fit my style of cooking and takes up a lot of space, but one of these days I'll probably throw something in there and be amazed.
>>21093133FUCK YOU I'M GOING TO MANDOLINE YOUR BALLS
>>21082579I use mine to dry off my puppies or kittens after i give em a bath they love it and the oil makes their coat nice and shiny.
>>21082590I bet you fantasize a lot about ops faggotry
>>21094094Geez that would hurt but they would be perfectly sliced and fry up nicely
I just made this in my air fryer. Chicken thighs are super easy to make
>>21090612no because i got an air fryer toaster oven and its basically an electric oven that sits on the counter except way more efficient and i can use it for everything i would use an oven for
>>21095037air fryer toaster ovens suck at actually air frying
>>21090330Thank you, anon. Fucking learn the lingua materna, you home schooled cunts.
>>21094828Looks awesome, air phrire is my favorite way to cook chicken
>>21082587bahahahhaa
>>21086281>vegetable oil,
>>21082579I make chicken tenders in mine most days
