British mature cheedar is completely underrated in the world of fine gourmet cheeses and I’m tired of pretending it isn’t.
>>21085179>matureyou sure as hell aren't
oregon cheese > wisconsin cheese >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> any random slop cheese made in the USA >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> french cheese > swiss cheese >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> any other countries cheese >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> britslop cheese
Why were you pretending it wasn't? That's pretty gay of you.
>>21085179America mogs Europe in cheese competitions.
>>21085203East Coaster here. I just ordered a wedge of Rogue River Blue. Thank you.
>>21085208>cheese is made of fat>Americans are made of fat>Americans make the best cheeseeverything is as it should be
>>21085210based, legitimately the best cheese i have ever had
>>21085179its not underrated at all, it wins awards constantly
I’m guessing most Americans have never tried mature cheddar and are basing their opinion of the mild rubbery shit they spit out from Costco and have the Gaul to call it Sharp Cheedar wen it’s just as bland and rubbery as the mild shit. In fact every American Cheese I’ve ever had has been bland processed slices of dullness. Real British mature Cheedar is crumbly salty pungent cheese that is almost going in the direction of a hard Italian cheese. I’ve NEVER eaten any cheese remotely like it and I’ve tried hundreds of cheeses around the world. And I don’t care if your bumfuck little town makes some blue cheese or Stilton copy. You just copied a classic European cheese.
>>21085208>>21085216America makes a bunch of shit copies of European cheeses. Fair enough many if you came from there BUT you aren’t the same. Your fine cheese are just Gorgonzola etc made in the US but you have to give them new names cause you aren’t legally allowed to call them Gorgonzola. Etc. fuckin Rouge River Blue…Kek. It’s Gorgonzola.
>>21085210>>21085216Thank you. In 2025 I'm getting actually exhausted with /ck/'s argumentative bullshit and the pointless /pol/ bickering. Stop telling me what you hate, start telling me what you like. I'm just here for the buyfag recommendations. It's entirely possible to say "hey, in my country we have this delicious thing" without also shitting on other countries who don't have it. What the actual fuck, eating makes people happy, why are there so many angry shitbirds here.
>>21085179>I’m tired of pretending it isn’tYou can just say things without spouting that moronic meme
>>21085203faggot
>>21085306stay mad eurocuck
>>21085203Truth. Get ready for coping and seething from malding euroids.
>>21085292what the fuck are you talking about? 90% of the "argumentative and /pol/" shit is started by americans shitting on other cuisines
>>21085208American cheese isn't even cheese.
>>21085362Well Europe isn't even a country, so now we're even.
>>21085243>guessing most Americans have never tried mature cheddar and are basing their opinion of the mild rubbery shit they spit out from CostcoCostco literally imports the cheddar from the UK. Regardless, Cheddar has been the most popular cheese, even in the US since forever so we aren't strangers to mature cheddar.
>>21085179>underratedAs a reformed cheese snob, someone who's forgotten more about cheeses then most people ever learn, I can tell you that cheddar is the single most popular cheese in the world so wtf do you get his "underrated" crap from ?
>>21085203You rated cheese based on how close it is made to you, not quality. It's as if you know zero about cheese.
>>21085179Why were you pretending it isn't? Were you pressured by cheese people you respect?
>>21085203THIS. Tillamook cheddar, Rogue River Bleu. And I always have Tillamook medium cheddar at all times so I'm going to go cut some right now.
>>21085739Are you ignoring all of the international prizes awarded Oregon cheeses? Because you sure look retarded.
>>21085736To him cheddar must be underrated exactly because it's the most popular cheese in the world. Maybe the cheese soirees he attends are all about brie and Camembert this season and anything on a burger must be the cheese of the peasant. We know better though. This is 4chan and intelligence is now uncommon here.
>>21085179Costco finally broke down and cobranded with Coastal, so it looks like we finally have a steady supply of high-quality crumbly Bongistani cheddar.
>>21085747Tillamook absolutely sucks once you've tried Coastal >>21085894>>21085749>international prizesLOL. I worked at a startup company that got a shitload of awards for its products. 99% of these "international prizes" are complete scams. Let me tell you how this works:1. your company buys a booth at an industry exhibition2. every fucking industry magazine is also at the exhibition3. every fucking industry magazine runs its own "best of show" prize thing4. your company pays a fee to the magazines for their prize competitions5. the magazines throw around prizes galore under a dozen different award types so that unless you entered a literal pile of dogshit, your company's product will get one of the "international prizes awarded"6. your company can then advertise the "international award" on its website as proof that the product is totally awesome. Our marketing guy used to laugh his ass off about that stuff.Which is not to say that my company's products weren't great or even a little innovative, they were, and in fact I do think we had the best of the industry, but the awards were a joke. Anyone could buy one for their product.
>>21085210How many kidneys did you have to sell to afford that?
>>21085903All that to say Tillamook isn't good? That's objectively wrong. Condolences.
>>21085749Ah the famous 'World Championship Cheese Contest. - Held in Wisconsin. Remains me of 'World Series' American Baseball.Sorry about picture quality but here are the results in the Cheddar Cheese categories.Look at the third column for country of origin . . .. notice something unusual here?

>>21085942Oh dear.
>>21085179Vintage Somerset Cheddar is the finest cheese in the World and that's an objective fact.
I love those sweet crusty crystals that form on chedder cheese
>>21085749fucking grim that
>>21086060Like Jerry's grandma when she learns her old checking account is overdrawn.
>>21085942Yes, these "awards" are bullshit. But pointless dick waving about which country has the best cheese are also bullshit. All of this energy should be spent developing the export/import market so that I can eat your delicious cheese. I WANT YOUR CHEESE, MY BODY IS READY, STOP FUCKING AROUND ON 4CHAN AND SEND ME YOUR BEST CHEESE.
>>21085749>no artificial growth hormonesJust imagine having to advertise that. Subhuman country
>>21085215>I am the cheese
>>21085596Anon's been real quiet since this dropped.
>>21085739Americans are just stuck in their own bubble. Granted, I've only tried one cheese from America and it was fine.
>>21085596>Costco literally imports the cheddar from the UKYes which means they're important the factory produced "mild" cheddar that has been aged for a couple of weeks in a warehouse, which is why it's so bad.
>>21085179My eight year old daughter refuses to eat cheese and I've tried everything from trying to disguise the flavour to buying her a vibrator and she still refuses.

>>21086539Pizza is usually irresistible for kids. Try something like beef tacos with cheese.
oregon makes the best cheese i have ever hadt. 5th gen cheesemonger
>>21085179True, living out in Wisconsin has extremely disappointed me with the way how their cheeses are. They all taste like plastic, and remind me of those cheese strings that you'd get in your packed lunch. Garbage joke country, where is my mature Cathedral City bitch?!?
>>21085179I fuckin love sharp cheddar
>>21085179>nooo you can't just enjoy good cheese! you have to enjoy moldy cheese that smells like armpits!!

Wensleydale is awesome. Wallace had the right of it for years.
>>21089236Which Aldi do you go to? I can't remember the last time I saw a UK cheese at Aldi's. Or any UK food in any shop or supermarket, to be honest.

>>21085203>muh plastic murka cheese product!
>>21085179>British mature cheedar is completely underratedPlain old mature? Mass market, just one step above the slop that is mild cheddar. It's only worth having if you put pickle on it, or tomato or onion. (Or you can melt it on toast or use it on pizza or whatever.)Spend a bit more and get the proper thing. Vintage cheddar can be mighty fine.
>>21085747>Aged over 60 days>Compare with 24 months minimum for some genuine cheddar classificationsOne of these things isn't like the other.
>>21085203based

>>21090244but enough about you
>>21085179>British mature cheedarIt’s good. I like Swiss with lots of holes the best though

>>21091185My mom likes it a lot. Not my favourite.>>21089415See if you can find a mature Wensleydale. That's not so common.
>>21092517The blue Wensleydale is top tier, I think it's superior to Stilton even.
