Why does nobody talk about walmart's official takes on popular brands of snack foods?
They're one of the only options left that don't outright taste like chemicals.
>>
>>21086390
Ah, that would be because this website is for 18+. I'm sure there are boards for kids anon, you can ask this inane question there.
>>
>>21086392
What kind of fucking bot post are you?
>>
>>21086399
>mommy the nasty bot said things I didn't like
Fuck off kid
>>
>>21086390
So they taste like nothing?
Including air.
>>
Great Value is hit or miss. Stuff like Pop Tarts, cookies...are usually decent. I would steer clear of deli meats or anything meat related.
>>
Who the fuck eats pop tarts? I have always wondered this because I have never seen a box outside the store. Is the poverty food? If so why is it available in my area where no poor people live?
>>
>>21086420
During times of emergency (natural disasters) Pop tarts are the first food that sells out on the shelves
>>
Their soy titties jiggle as their hands type flamewar bait.
>>
Me personally im a Kroger brand/Private Selection chad
>>
One time I saw a dad who obviously had the kids with him for the weekend loading up a cart with all great value items. Milk, cereal, bread, cold cuts, soup, snacks, you name it. I had to imagine the ex had a thing about only buying name brands. It was a thing of beauty.
>>
>>21086390
because they don't make a smore's version

they are what poptarts were 20 years ago except the smore's thing
plus poptarts throws out some special stuff, I had bananabread ones last month, it was the best poptart I've had In a while
>>
>>21086424
But why?
>>
>>21086514
the box says it has vitamins n minerals n shiet
>>
>>21086392
I remember when moot tried to make blue boards all age inclusive
>>
>>21086522
false
>>
>>21086390
>Why does nobody talk about walmart's official takes on popular brands of snack foods?
"great value" is a meme, op.
>example
jackie chan is just great value bruce lee.
>>
>>21086420
>Who the fuck eats pop tarts?
the children of soccer moms.
>>
>>21086469
>I had to imagine the ex had a thing about only buying name brands
not the fact that he was just buying based on cost?
>>
>>21086545
Great value isn’t always the lowest cost at Walmart, and he wasn’t buying the frugal minimum either. There was this deliberate quality to the great value purchases.
>>
>>21086542
Not where I live. Soccer moms give their kids shitty organic snacks that are probably no healthier. But they would never give them a pop tart.
Does this product not have white trash connotations elsewhere? I wonder if this is regional
>>
We rarely go to Walmart and the only Walmart branded food my wife and I have every gotten were banana split ice cream sandwiches (like Neapolitan but the chocolate part was swapped out for banana ice cream) and, as of Saturday, their version of PB2 powder that's not been used yet.
The ice cream sandwiches were delicious.
I like the Walmart brand dishwashing powder because it's cheap and the missus likes it because it doesn't smell as strongly as Cascade powder does but still cleans just as well.
I think that's all we buy that's Walmart brand stuff.
>>21086450
We fucks hard with Safeway brands to the point that they toss us discounts on their branded stuff all the time. We have a nearly $2 off unlimited coupon on milk, for example, and we often get eggs for $2/dz.
Right now, we've got a 25% off $10 worth of Safeway brands coupon. We got one last week that I spent on deli turkey (down to $3.53/lb) and tomorrow, we're buying a fucktonne of no-peanuts mixed nuts for $5.65/lb using that coupon.
>>
>>21086564
Also Walmart doesn’t have store brands available in very category. Just try and buy nothing but store brands on your next trip.
>>
>>21086697
Like what?
>>
>>21086716
Hot dogs, for example
>>
>>21086719
Wait... Walmart doesn't have Walmart hotdogs? I'm genuinely surprised.
>>
>>21086743
Or cheapo stick margarine. Or 24oz cans of pasta sauce to compete with Hunt's - the Great Value pasta sauce starts off with stuff in glass jars to compete wtih crap like Ragu
>>
>>21086541
>jackie chan is just great value bruce lee.
Those are fighting words.
>>
>>21086574
I found out in the last year or so that an old friend from a pretty lower-middle-class background was raised to think of hot dogs as white trash poverty food.
>>
>>21086564
>Great value isn’t always the lowest cost at Walmart
not since they started selling "price first" brand.
>>
I had imagined that the off-brands had gone down in quality just as much as the name brand.
>>
>>21086823
But thats true
>>
>>21087074
Ok, well try imagining your mother in sexual congress with another woman
>>
>>21087067
>"price first" brand.
Huh. 2014-2016. RIP. Totally down the memory hole. I have only the vaguest recollection of that. Looks like "bettergoods" is replacing "Sam's Choice", sort of? It sort of blew my mind when they had Sam's Choice Taralli at Walmart, imported from Italy and all that, back when taralli were having a moment.
>>
>>21087116
I'd rather not, I'll use Anon's Mom instead.
>>
>>21087093
If they're not just hot dogs to you, you have class anxiety. Sometimes a hot dog is just a hot dog.
>>
>>21086409
I've never had issues with Walmart deli meat. They're the same brands you find anywhere else.
>>
>>21086409
Their potato chips suck ass
>>
>>21086514
they basically don't expire or go bad at all for 10 plus years
>>
>>21086390
>>21086399
Sir we are only adults here, we don't eat that kind of thing and don't buy it for our children because it's nutritional abuse.
>>
>>21086390
This is what you’re talking about. You can see it was moving so fast during manufacturing they didn’t even have time to add the chemicals.
>>
>>21087135
Its amazing how much popular psychology has ruined our culture. Everyone is in therapy and instead of having a cohesive culture , they all just walk around spouting meaningless psychobabble while feeling so self satisfied
>>
The only place that consistently delivers on top tier own brand goods is Trader Joes.
Everyone else has something shit that drags down the whole lineup.
>>
>>21088771
Trader Joe’s is just as hit or miss as anywhere else.
>>
>>21088771
A TJ's opened almost exactly two miles down the road from me last year. We went in there once because it had the cheapest fresh baby corn and I like it better than full grown to use at Thanksgiving (I braise them in butter).
While I'd been to a TJ's before about twenty years ago, that was the last time since this past Thanksgiving and it's still exactly the same. Huge amount of prepackaged slop and very, very little fresh produce, meat or seafood.
I've never had their packaged goods except the dark chocolate peanut butter cups but I hear the same as you're saying: that the quality is quite nice.
What annoys me about them (and Aldi) is that they don't tell me what they have in store nor how much it costs. Lidl does both and they have good bread. Speaking of which, does TJ's have decent bread? How much is a loaf of white?
>>
>>21088769
Whether or not hot dogs fill you with a sense of shame and dread, striving is still funny
>>
>>21086514
Shelf stable, extremely calorically dense. Don't have to cook it, and it tastes sweet. All things people want when times are dire.

>Speaking of which, does TJ's have decent bread?
The only grocer I've been to with good bread is Hyvee
>>
>>21089645
Try Lidl some time. Best chain bakery in the US. And their cheap-ass bagged white bread ain't bad, either.
>>
>>21089688
>only on the east coast
Lidl needs to expand faster
>>
>>21086541
Other way around surely, chan was a legit stuntman and lee was just an actor larping as a fighter

Safeway Compliments Inc has deposited .15c to your virtual account.
>>
>>21092334
lmao
I bought the nuts yesterday and today, there was another 25% off coupon in the app. It's weird because the ads said that they'd be giving out the coupon once per week each week in January and we've already got three of them.
Wish I could transfer the coupon because there ain't shit else we need right now

Highly recommend these and the chicken patties over basically every other strip/chicken burger. They're damn tasty and pretty large for the portions.
>>
>>21089807
Are these still decent? Poptarts have definitely gone downhill but I need to plan some sweet options for my next binge.
>>
>>21092395
You got engagement from a natural user, that is worth $0.45. Will be deposited tonight in your Safeway account.

>"UNCOOKED RAW CHICKEN" plastered all over the packaging
>4 fucking instances of it on the front alone
Why do Americans do this?
>>
>>21092504
Nope. No new coupons, deals, discounts or rewards points in there today.
We're talking about lunch and if I can steer everyone towards subs, I'll offer to pick them up and put it on my account to get the rewards points, though. Shouldn't be too hard to convince anyone. They're only $4.50 for each foot-long because coupon plus an upgrade for a drink and bag of chips for additional $2 per sandwich and people like saving money. : )
I posted this while my balls hovered inches above a bowl of water but I'm done shitting so back to the grind.

half this board is threads about fast food and snacks

Yes, the food half. The cooking half is the other half. That's what makes it /ck/ – Food & Cooking, kiddo.
