I know this board takes cooking seriously, so was wondering what local sources do you get your ingredients? Surely none of you go to corporate supermarkets of any brand name which is just slop-tier and fast-food tier quality compared to local markets where you get fresh ingredients, right?

Last time I got white zapote and sweet mamey. The zapote is amazingly delicious. Mamey is not ripe yet.

Most of our fresh groceries come from independently owned supermarkets or the green grocer at the next corner from our house.Chain supermarkets are just for junk, eggs and dairy.

local butcher for meat since supermarket meat is all full of additives and is half water.Bread at the local bakery but usually i bake bread myself.Fresh ingredients from the supermarkets or local farmer when its the season.I dont really buy processed foods so thats about it

Suprised no one mentioned Asian markets for fish, veggies and spices. Some also have their own butcher. Also the Amish for breads, meat and some veggies.
