Fondue uses vacherin fribourgeois, a totally different cheese than Vacherin Mont-d'Or, which itself is an inferior version of the French Mont-d'Or.
The Swiss version doesn't use raw milk, plus Mont d'Or is located in France. The cheese in op was fabricated more than 25 km away. The French ones are fabricated 3 km away from the place.
