New to cooking, tried making shepherd’s pie. Pic related is leftovers. How do I get the ground meat to stick to itself without mashing it into the potatoes? Every scoop had the beef crumbling out of the spoon.
>>21092653More fat burger?
>>21092653you could try egg or breadcrumbs like you're making a meatloaf
>>21092653Why do you want that? You seem to want a solid patty of beef under there. What's wrong with you? WTF does "stick to itself" mean?
>>21092653Whatever the fuck that is, it isn't shepherd's pie.
>>21092689But don't tell me you wouldn't devour that whole thing at 2am after a couple minutes in the microwave.
>>21092653That actually looks pretty good ngl.
>>21092694The mince literally looks boiled. It looks like there isn't even any fucking sauce. You're meant to make a gravy out of the meat and vegetables with some stock and worcestershire sauce. Don't even get me started on the sweetcorn and cheese.I wouldn't eat this at all.
>>21092653>How do I get the ground meat to stick to itselfwith gravy you stupid bastard
>>21092653>get the ground meat to stick to itselfWhy would you want this?
>>21092653Honestly, when I see stuff like this it starts to make sense why Americans think English cuisine sucks. The way you made this is so, so wrong. Everything about it is wrong. It looks like you just mixed beef mince with sweetcorn, vegetables and mashed potato, put cheese on top then baked it.
Cook your onion, garlic and mince however you like then>Add 2 - 3 tablespoons of tomato paste and cook for a few minutes>Add a 2 tablespoons of flour and cook for a few minutes >Gradually add your stock to keep the gravy thick >When it's all thick and gravy like season to taste and add a splash of Worcestershire sauce
>>21092772>no seasoning>no herbs>no spicesgrim
>>21092780Literally just instructing on how to make the gravy you dense cunt.
>>21092780garlic is basically an herb
>>21092653Someone new to cooking wouldn't make Euroslop you larping little faggot
>>21092780>stock>tomato>garlic>no seasoningWHERE DA LAWRY’S
>>21092868>eat shepherds pie at a restaurant >think it’s very good>decide to try making it yourself, despite never having cooked before >this enrages anon
>>21092758>Honestly, when I see stuff like this it starts to make sense why Americans think English cuisine sucks. The way you made this is so, so wrongTHISBlaming The English for the fact that Americans can't make a simple cottage pie. James Martin does a simple recipe here.https://www.bbc.co.uk/food/recipes/classiccottagepie_90765Or find another British recipe online.
>>21092772that sounds about like what i did when i made mine a while ago. need to dig out one of the frozen ones from the ol' chest freezer
>>21092653>How do I get the ground meat to stick to itself without mashing it into the potatoes? Every scoop had the beef crumbling out of the spoon. You're supposed to make gravy, and not use ground beef.
>>21093293>You're supposed to make gravy, and not use ground beef.Ground beef is fine, but there should be a thick gravy.
>>21092970please dont tell me you actually serve it in those catering ass trays
