Why did it go away?
>>21092951For me it’s larks tongue in aspic with lemons
>>21092961
>>21092951Because savory jello is gelatin is collagen and other nutrients that's really good for you but Americans have been brainwashed into hating "gristle" and anything that isn't dry boiled chicken breast and gray chewy beef so they only want the lowest quality parts of an animal and not the incredibly rich and nourishing softer parts that come out in broths and gelatin and that's why everyone has arthritis and depression
>>21092951Because it's fucking awful
>>21092951Jello went after the child market with their fruit flavors and found that was far more successful than the dinner market, probably because such dishes are complex and time consuming. Most would rather grab a tv dinner instead of dealing with waiting for various layers of gelatin to congeal before adding various ingredients.
>>21092951because it is viscerally disgusting, like eating coagulated blood from an animal thats been dead for ages
>>21092951People stopped thinking jelly was fancy. It was a generational phenomenon.
>>21092951Because everyone got [bigger] refrigerators and ovens, meaning they no longer needed to employ aspic to preserve things that would otherwise spoil, and they could more readily cook things right before they were served
>>21092951You mean aspic?
>>21093067youre supposed to call them latinx now
>>21093070I try not to la thinks about em
>>21092973fpbp
>>21092973Oh my it's the dipshit third worlder who has never stepped foot in America, saying the most idiotic, false things about American food because he's a mentally ill, slobbering, seething, downy retard
>>21093055This. You can still buy meat products with aspic but not those strange creations especially from the 50s and 60s anymore.
>>21092951>Savory Jello>Why did it go away?
>>21093202It was not savory; it was a gimmick in the 1970's to trick idiots into thinking it was something fancyThen people realized it's disgusting; it's pointless and a texture thing and looks grossWhy should I enjoy a disgusting blob of translucent gelatin on my salmon?I have the same reaction to corn-starch thickened sauces/soups to this day; it looks weird and processed
>>21093269>I have the same reaction to corn-starch thickened sauces/soups to this day; it looks weird and processedyour chineaze overlords will be very angry with you anon
>>21093269Aspics have been around for centuries, the trend you're talking about came from old jello ads, but not all gelatin is jello, it's just a brand name.
>>21093269>I have the same reaction to corn-starch thickened sauces/soupsYou can't see a difference between stach or arrowroot and roux based sauces/soups.
I really don't know. Things like head cheese are less popular but have never gone away. You could probably get modern people to eat jellied consomme like in pic rel. Vegetable aspics are virtually extinct - I find the combination of flavors and textures in them really off-putting too. But some people still love them!
>>21093269aspic dishes are old as dirt
Still a thing in Italy and Eastern Europe. Not a single Italian hasn't had beef aspic with lemon and a salad at some point during the summer.
>>21093278I will sit here, frozen in aspic, as your kin clumsily fondle with their chopsticks, never getting a grip on my lithe body and failing>>21093296The difference between "stach" and corn starch is obvious to someone with an IQ above 16>>21093711Too stupid to reply toWhere do I begin?Your whore mother should have smothered you to death in the alley after giving birth to to you, after being raped by a paki Give me something to work with, you grotesque, dismembered child of rape of a goat fucker
>>21093751>The difference between "stach" and corn starch is obvious to someone with an IQ above 16Yes, mr. 15 iq i'm pretty sure you could see the difference between corn and potato starch.
