What do you think of pub food and drinks?
What do you normally order?
>>
>>21093273
>What do you think of pub food and drinks?
they vary from terrible to fantastic depending on the pub
>What do you normally order?
if it's a new pub, I'll play it safe with a burger, steak sandwich or pizza or the daily special. things that no pub should fuck up, and if they fuck up it'll be okay, not terrible.
if I trust the food, I'll just order a steak sandwich because I like steak sandwiches
>>
>>21093273
If someone handed me that card I'd request a biro with red ink.
>>
>>21093273
What kind of retarded idea is this? If I'm drunk enough to be cutoff then I'm too drunk to read writing that small.
>>
this is incredibly reddit
>>
>>21093273
What? Is this what happens if you eat too much at a buffet? Then why do they call it all you can eat? That's fucked up.
>>
>no one will know
If I'm getting kicked out I want everyone in the place to know
>>
>>21093366
And I'm going to use the phrase "succulent Chinese meal".
>>
>>21093363
Would you be satisfied if it said
> "All you can eat*" (*see complete conditions on our brochure)
? Instead of conforming to common sense?

Simple as.
Pub food is shit anyway, I'll eat at home ta
>>
>>21093291
I would violently assault the bartender
>>
>>21093291
What would you do with the biro?
>>
>>21093273
Bars should count themselves lucky if they have a customer that actually purchased enough alcohol at their shit establishment to get that drunk. It's way too fucking expensive. Personally I don't even bother going to a bar unless I've had two bottles of wine first. Then I'll buy one pint and nurse it for the time I'm there, and before I leave I'll piss in the toilet brush holder.
>>
clearly you lot have never had alcohol training, in any civilised country it's illegal to serve alcohol to someone who is excessively drunk. if you get this card they are just covering their arses before you batter someone
>>
grr im outraged and want to signal to everyone ITT that im a based barfly
>>
>>21093524
I was a bartender in college. Of all the people I had to cut off for being absolutely black out drunk, 80% were women. And of those...half threw a full on tantrum.
>IM NOT DRUNK!
>YOU THINK IM DRUNK? WHY?
>FFFFFUCK YOU
Most of the time if we cut a guy off it was "Yeah alright whatever Ill go somewhere else" and that was it.
>>
>>21093535
exactly why i swore off that kind of work, trying to be the sensible adult and have a level conversation with someone who has lost all their inhibition is rarely worth the wage
>>
>>21093273
>What do you normally order?
I always try to eat before I leave the house so I'm not tempted to order shitty overpriced bar food, and I basically exclusively order cheap vodka shots on happy hour so I can get fucked up without having to pay much at all. If I feel like splurging I'll order a double of Johnny Walker black, but that's the ceiling
>>
>>21093273
>What do you normally order?
I'm trying to lose some weight and save money these days, so now I just get a couple Rainiers. Ideally though, I'm ordering a gin and tonic (Hendrick's) and mozz sticks or chicken strips. My favorite beer is Asahi, but I've yet to find a bar in America that has it, on tap or otherwise.
>>
>>21093519
Notice the Miller Light or whatever in the koozie behind the card. This dude came in loaded, he's either on a crawl or a townie.
>>
>>21093539
>rarely worth the wage
Who the fuck spells "rage" like that? Fucking kill yourself
>>
>>21093564
elmer fudd
>>
>>21093515
Correct the card. Cut off should be two words.
I see this mistake more and more lately. Bestfriend, workout etc.
Everybody is somehow getting even dumber.
>>
>>21093273
If they had the balls to tell me "nigger you're too drunk, I'm not serving you anymore", I'd just leave without a fuss or get a fucking glass of water, but I think being handed a physical reddit comment would cause me to consider violence.
>>
>>21093657
I guarantee this causes more violence than just telling them to gtfo
>>
>>21093425
You would go to jail for drunk and dusorderly and assault just because a bartender didn't want to lose his license over serving your shitty drunk ass? Let me guess what colour your hands are...
>>
>>21093826
Not the anon your replies to but lol you are an idiot. Bars never call the cops on patrons because there's too much risk it backfires on them for overserving. Lots of risk and exposure to their license.
>>
>>21093396
Yes actually. False advertising is wrong.
>>
would instantly cause a massive scene if someone gave me that card, faggot ass shit.
>>
>>21093826
>Colour
>>
>>21093273
"Cutoff" is a noun.
>>
Lots of tough guy larpers itt but I doubt any of you would say or do anything other than leave or maybe some passive aggressive move like shitting on the bathroom floor

>>
>>21093853
What would you do? Suck the bartenders dick?
>>
>>21093837
You're honestly telling me you think you could beat up a bar tender for not over serving and face zero consequences? Lol cool go for it then.

>>21093850
Yeah that's how civilized people spell it.
>>
>>21093906
>Yeah that's how civilized people spell it.
Only Canadians are civil. British people are so gross. They pronounce work like walk.
>>
>>21093273
I don't really eat when I go out to drink, but if I'm feeling it I'll go to the fruit machine for a bit and bring a snack with me from the bar.
Scampi fries (these used to be in every pub/gastro and are now hard to get for some reason), Walkers salt and vinegar, and either these >>21093398 or the bbq KP are my go to's.
>>
>>21093273
I basically lived at a fancy brewery/bar/pizza place for a few months, spent my days there from open to close, even got to the point they gave me a key and told me to let myself in.

Never once did I see somebody get cut off. How drunk do you have to be?
>>
>>21093857
I would simply leave
>>
>>21093927
It's called a slot machine dumb bong
>>
>>21093273
This can't be real
1. Drunkass can't read card
2. Leave quietly? Are these people retarded? If I'm that drunk, everyone already knows it
3. Leave? I understand not serving me, but throwing me out on the street while you know I'm intoxicated to the point of blacking out is criminal negligence. Just let me sit in the corner with my water and sober up
>>
>>21093273
I would go to my car and pound the flask of vodka i keep there and then crash head on into a nice family of four killing us all and making it look like the bar oveserved me and kicked me out.
>>
>>21093969
i've written some madlibs suicide notes in advance and bring one with me when i'm gonna do bad things to fill out just in case
>>
>>21093976
Thats excellent preparedness anon great work!
>>
>get card
>only read like half of it at best, think its just the bar's calling card they gave me so I can advertise it to my friends
>pocket the card, go out for a smoke
>forget about the card
>get told I'm cut off and/or tossed out when I go to order my next drink

>>21093524
>if you get this card they are just covering their arses before you batter someone
Kinda dumb of them to expect drunk people to be reasonable or to not batter someone anyways.
>>
>>21093906
"civilized" is not the civilised spelling, though.
>>
>>21094010
If you're so drunk you can't read that's your problem. They are just giving a friendly notice to those who are self aware enough to understand they're visibly drunk and would rather go home than make a scene. Of course if you want to yell or try attacking the bartender and have a bouncer toss you to the curb while everyone laughs at the plastered fool that's totally your choice.
>>
>>21094051
That was my point. If you're the type of person who's gonna make a scene or attack a bartender then getting told via a card isn't gonna stop you from doing so. I have never made a scene when being cut off/getting told to leave.
>>
>>21093651
>somehow
>>
>>21094073
NTA, what's your point here? Are you semi-literate?
>>
>>21094051
I toss bouncers to the curb pal not the other way around
>>
>>21094022
ok here's the authenic UK spelling
متحضر
>>
>>21093273
Oh man, reminds me of when I was cut off after a chicks bf I was groping popped me in the face with brass knuckles and I was bleeding all over the bar.

In all fairness, she was into it.
>>
>>21093969
Great strategy, sounds like you're going places.
>>
>>21093535
Is dealing with drunks worth the money?
>>
>>21094100
It was at the time because I was broke. I am not a very social person but I took the job for the cash. It wears on you fast, and I see why bartenders burn out.
>>
>>21093947
So you'd get fucked in the ass?
>>
>>21094073
Please don't tell me you think it should be some how.

>>21094087
Just thought it was funny how you thought you were the better man for spelling it colour and then you used the American spelling of civilised.
>>
>>21094112
As opposed to what tough guy, starting a fist fight with the bartender?
>>
>>21094114
Phonetic spelling is for lower IQ countries, that's why they do it. Less thinking is less distraction from bbc
>>
this cant be real, id laugh at the bartender being too embarassed to tell me verbally

Maybe you should have groped her instead.
>>
>>21094137
It's also fatness. It addles the brain, makes it less easy to cogitate.
>>
>>21094138
t. only drinks at home

>>21094136
So you let him do it in the back of the knee? Do you give him a foot job? I'm running out of holes here.
>>
>>21093651
workout is a noun, work out is a verb
>>
>>21094168
And I see it used incorrectly as a verb. That was the point.
>>
>>21093273
I'm not a alcoholic loser who thinks the one defining thing to being an adult is that they can drink, or bang someone.

Id still leave, not gunna stay where im not welcome but that shits hilarious.

>What do you think of pub food and drinks?
Regular pub then there should be something known to be good to order, possibly the burger, or their wings or a salad w/steak and blue cheese, something on tap, whatever is coldest.

Irish Pub, then probably a scotch egg with mustard to dip my bites in plus a nice dark Guinness, or maybe a cup of leek soup with some irish soda bread. A really special pub will have an irish boxty stuffed with guinness stew or breton chicken in a creamy sauce. If there are really good chips, I might want some with fish and a curry sauce or possibly a beer cheese. Irish coffee if staying a while and looking for dessert.
>>
>>21094480
>Irish Pub
You mean an English pub covered with Shamrocks and pictures of leprechauns and putting the word 'Irish' in front of every item.
>>
>>21094492
There is an American chain of "Irish Pubs" called "Ri Ra" and it's still unclear how many levels of irony they are on.
>>
>>21094518
I'm guessing this is a Boston thing?
>>
>>21094480
There's a bar I frequent in my flyover watering hole, it's not an Irish pub but the owner is a salty old Mick. The only food is a Guinness beef stew, that the owner makes, with some soda bread, and he only sells it to people he likes and trusts at closing time, because he's breaking some dumb code shit by selling any amount of food, something about keeping the ability to smoke indoors, or some shit about health codes, idk he changes the reasons every time some noob tries to get some stew, but holy fuck is it good. I'll pop in around closing time some nights, even if I did no drinking at all, just to grab a pint and a bowl of stew with a chunk of bread.
>>
>>21094530
Nope, and it's still unclear whether the owners are edgy, ignorant, or shitposters. They did used to hire Irish-corn college kids as bartenders and I can only imagine how happy they were to have "RiRa" on their employment history when coming home.
>>
>>21093535
This shitty bar about two blocks away had bar rescue film an episode there. I stopped in to take a look and the bartender immediately refused to serve me. I had three beers beforehand but was talking to the regulars and whatnot. Ordered a cranberry juice and they hit me the $5 dollar min on cards. I honestly regret not throwing it across the room.
>>
>>21094548
>Irish-corn
*Irish-born, we all know they only like another New World crop
>>
>>21093535
That was the best thing about college pubs. I was working there as a volunteer so i didn't get paid and gave zero fucks about the difficult customers feelings because we were basically just selling to break even, barely making a profit we just did it for fun. So if some drunk idiot started whining about how they'll go somewhere else i could just tell them good, leave. We don't need you here. There's plenty of nice people here i want to help, you're not one of them.
>>
>>21093273
I go to this great irish place and I always order this club sandwich they make and this mountain of waffle fries.
>>
>>21093273
>no one will know
if you were handed this card at this particular bar, all the regulars would know that you have been cut off because you're too drunk and then they would glass you and steal your money and your whip or whatever.
>>
>>21093273
>>
>>21093524
I'm a frenchfag and I remember the case of a bartender being imprisonned, after one of his customers got involved in a fatal car crash after his drinking session at the bar
>>
>>21094826
Ooh, now do one about niggers!
>>
>>21094881
I live in the US, this happened here a few years ago. The bar overserved a guy so much wine and mixed drinks that he fell down numerous times, vomited outside (and workers saw it) and ended up getting in his car and crashing into a parked car. He sued the bar and won. I think its bullshit but as a bartender it's part of the job.
>>
>>21094881
That's stupid. If you serve someone enough booze to die from alcohol poisoning that's one thing but does the cops expect the bartender to take responsibility for the actions of a person after they leave the establishment? Should we start suing Walmart employees because one of their customers robs someone in the parking lot after they leave the store?
>>
>>21094089
Sexual assault isnt cool man. even if its against a dude
>>
>>21094137
shalom
>>
>>21095031
I was just thinking yesterday, if cops have a quota to give tickets and shit, why dont they just hang out outside bars and pull over obvious drunk drivers a little after they leave? Itd be fish in a barrel.
Its kinda funny that bars are even mandated to have a certain amount of customer parking by parking minimums too.
