What’s the target market for this?

Nope, in the USA the ingredients list is supposed to show everything.

I love when bitter jealous thirdies get destroyed by basic logic which is something they have no concept of.
>>
I buy vending machine sandwiches like this occasionally at work. Usually when I either forgot my lunch or I ate it all and then I'm hungry later. I work 12's so it's either that or don't eat all day.

People who want a peanut butter and jelly sandwich and also have $4.99 they don’t need.

People who work, especially people who work nights. I know this website is comprised mostly of autistic NEETs and college students but, this kind of shit saves truckers and such.

Believe it or not there is a whole working man's world, and night time world of criminals and stoners etc, that none of you are privy to.

I really wish it was a joke.
Nothing is good with this, it's the simplest thing anybody can do, it's high priced, and a fuckton of plastic.
So, please, if you finally know who is this for, I want to know too.
>>
>>21101451
I'm sorry you have a hard life, not even trying to be condescending.
>>
>>21101451
that's a valid argument for gas station food as a general concept, but no one is getting their life saved by a packaged peanut butter and jelly sandwich.
PB&J is the food you make when you don't have time to make food. it's not something that you buy premade.

Imagine being so fucking lazy you buy a premade sanwich.
Im glad they banned plastic straws in EU, so there's more plastic for these lazy fucks. To package their premade sanwiches, so they don't have to lose 30 seconds at home making one themselves.

i've never had jelly, and i tried peanut butter once and it was disgusting. it had yellow seeds and some watery liquid besides it

sounds like you had natural/organic peanut butter without all the sugar in it.

meanwhile the typical american style peanut butter is a smooth creamy spread, like butter beaten with sugar. because that's basically what it is.

how much sugar does the normal one have?
i wanna cook up a bunch of classic american foods like pb&j sandwiches, the crossed apple pie, chili, mac and cheese, and beef meatloaf.
also have no clue what that jelly is. looks like fruit jam but not really?

>how much sugar does the normal one have?
never made it myself but looking at labels it's around 1.5g sugar per tablespoon (15mL)

>also have no clue what that jelly is. looks like fruit jam but not really?
it's jam but it's made with fruit juice or syrup only, no seeds or bits of fruit. has a slightly gelatinous texture.
most americans would use jam and jelly interchangably imho.
>>
>>21101702
thanks anon
>>
>>21101684
kek, what do you think? That I am socially functional enough to have a girlfriend?
I am not working 80 hours a week tho (more like 50-60 and that's already too much).
But still, for something as simple as a pb&j, why in hell would you buy it premade!?
It's like 1min prep top.
It's fresh and I can choose my jam flavor, and I can make like 10 for the price.
So, really, what's the point?
Make it yourself, and you won't have to work that much to be able to afford an fucking sandwich.
>>
>>21101595
I mean I would never buy a premade PB and J, but I'm sure some trucker out there is a picky eater who loves it
>>
>>21101766
Because I am sleeping at work away from home and the food at work is absolute garbage.
>>
>>21101799
Well, make you good old pb&j at home before work then?
Also, I sometime have the luxury to have a personal drawer, and I always store some biscuits in there.

that's rough. i appreciate that the little hospital i work in has an honor system fridge full of pretty decent cafeteria food for us night shifters. it's so nice. really, any hospital with edible cafeteria food is a rare treat.

Man I'd rather be homeless than work 12 hour shifts. That shit is straight up slave labor
>>
>>21102199
nta but i also work overnight 12s as an ICU nurse and i love it. i'm nocturnal to begin with, and 12-hour shifts means a full work week is 3 shifts per week. it's not bad at all.

hilarious. but yea, if they had bothered to cut the crusts off, there would be a line of zoomers buying this every day
>>
>>21101595
The irony any gas station food and prepared food is that they are massively overpriced for what they are, but only poor people buy them. I guarantee you no one who makes six figures is buying gas station pb&j
>>
>>21101380
There is this chicken sandwich
The bread becomes rock hard when heating it
The chicken isn't even entirely chicken and is soggy as fuck
But it has the most delicious mustard I have ever tasted
They make their own mustard, I can't buy it
I still buy a sandwich every couple of months just to taste that delicious mustard even tho I'm no longer broke and don't have to rely on that kind of food

>Nothing is good with this, it's the simplest thing anybody can do, it's high priced, and a fuckton of plastic.
it's a convenience food for someone not at home. Durrr.

Your splurgey food craving when buying a sandwich might trend for something your 5 year old doesn't want, or more like someone you don't make at home, like say coronation salad (british curry chicken). If I'm in Miami, I absolutely want a papa relleno and a bocadito because it's so easily available there but not elsewhere. If I was worred about freshness, the PBJ would be a safe bet. Maybe I just want a cold carton of milk. If you're not American, by birth, peanut butter is exotic.

Commonly it uses grape jelly but it's really whatever you wanna use.
Also in common conversation jelly/jam are used interchangeably but if you go to the store the brands itself will make the proper distinction

The target market is basically ME.

I don't have peanut butter in my daily calories because it doesn't offer enough nutrients for the amount of calories. Even when I am not on a diet, it still is not preferable because its so easy to get fat on.

I don't even like jam that much to eat it day to day. So I would basically have 2 jars of it in the fridge for a year. I still have peanut butter in the fridge from OVER 1 year ago and it's probably bad by now but I'll use it for some mouse traps.
>>
>>21106204
to continue. I would basically buy it if I craved pb&j and wanted it as a one off.

I can explain this, kind of. I used to work 3rd shift at a deli. This was back in the before times when grocery stores were open 24hrs. Had a lot of free time, so I also made the sandwiches and precut meats. I'd make PB&Js every other night for the cool section.
>So who's buying them?
Two groups I only ever saw buy them, obviously intoxicated people (often regulars), and single moms that did grocery shopping with their kids at 3AM. Note, I was there from 11:30PM to 7:00AM, so the clientele I saw would be skewed. However, there was seldom a time when I didn't see every PB&J that was sold go out the door. Maybe one or two would sell during "normal" hours, but that was rare in itself and I have no clue who those people were.
The intoxicated people obviously bought them because they were drunk and/or high and wanted something quick. They'd also often get 1/2lb of their favorite deli meats and eat it out of the bag as they walked around the store. The single moms were obviously bad and lazy, and would often have their kids eat them well sitting in the cart.
>and here's why you shouldn't buy them
We used brand products, which should come as no shocker. Every Sunday I was permitted to get 1 loaf of bread, that was plenty for what actually sold, and once a month I got a big jar of store brand Peanut Butter and grape jelly. Just had to grab it off the shelf, walk back to the deli, and scan it out. Some week, there were no good dates on bread, so it would mean the last sandwiches of the week would either be using expired bread, or it would expire well it had its 3 days on the shelf. Not a dangerous thing considering how processed store brand white bread is, but it did mean it would get stale. We were also instructed to keep it thin, very thin, to stretch the pb and the j as long as possible, which was often necessary.
Also, the guy who took over after I left was gross. I wouldn't trust a sandwich from most nightshift workers.

You're on a board where the median user eats fast food multiple times a week, and you're wondering why someone would eat a premade PBJ? It's because Americans have been tricked into thinking we're too busy to spend a couple hours a week preparing decent food for ourselves.
>>
>>21101380
>What’s the target market for this?
It's a cheap vegan sandwich!
Well, cheaper than the fancy impossible sandwiches anyway.
