Why would you ever eat a cheeseburger when the diner could make a patty melt instead?
I like lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, ketchup, mustard, and possibly even a couple jalapeno slices, none of which a patty melt have.
Sometimes I want a bun and some LTOP, but I agree patty melts are top tier.
>>21106219you dont think any diner would put that shit on if you asked?not that id recommend doing that with anyhting but the jalapeno
Patty melts are low tier
>>21106216I prefer a steamed bun over toasted or fried on a flat top.
>>21106226>dinerThere's only a few old-school restaurants I'd call 'diners' in my small rural area and they all basically serve the same thing. None of them have a patty melt. So neither your basic burger joint or the local diners have rye, swiss and caramelized onions, which are essential to a good patty melt.Personally, if I feel like a patty melt, I'll make it at home properly. The burger has supplanted it in popularity for mass consumption and they're just very not available.
>>21106226anonthis is a fried sandwich you've posted. now in my experience, patty melts are just cheeseburgers, but google agrees with you, so let's go with thatyou can't add cold fresh ingredients or condiments into a grilled sandwich. you have to put it all together and then grill it til it's cohesive.
>>21106898anonsimply ask for those ingredients on the side, cut the patty melt in half, and make a sandwich of the cold ingredients between patty melt buns
>>21106216because sliced bread is ass and buns are fucking perfect?
>>21106216That's a beefburger sandwich with cheese
