Pizza Gusto and Il Pacchero are the best pizzas in the city, both in Santo Spirito across the river.

Yeah rent a car and go to smaller towns all over italy that arent' flooded with tourists after you see the major cities. Look up more expensive restaurants in Florence that off the beaten path. There are some good steak houses and places that sell good pastas with board ragu. There are so many cool cities around Tuscany, Umbria, Le Marche that you should visit. I really feel bad for people who go there and a take a fucking bus from shitty city to shitty city.

Trattoria Vecchia Roma in via Ferruccio, Metro A stop Vittorio Emanuele. Take a Carbonara, an artichoke salad and something with oxtail (coda) with a quarter liter of red wine each. Screencap this post and then let me know. You have to reserve in advance because of tripadvisor and korean drones. It is good decent roman food with good portion and possibly the best carbonara for their price.
If like any tourist you go to Trastevere then Carlo Menta is the way to go. Just dont buy coke on the street there unless you have a good lawyer

For must-try local delicacies Slow Food is head and shoulders above the rest. Go into a book store and find "Osterie d'Italia" and try whichever they recommend. They also got lists with rare cheeses, salumni, wines etc etc.

Here's a really good trick: look for older, wel-dressed men in the streets and hope they speak English or learn some basic Italian. Ask them where to eat, where to find wine etc. Don't ask women, they'll send you to places they think you'll like as a tourist, not the authentic proper traditional spots.

Buongiorno faggot. Born and raised florentine here, here's a few recommendations:
>avoid L'Antico Vinaio at all costs, it is a pointless tourist trap and the owner is a fucking greedy cunt
>for a good steak, both in terms of price and quality, go to I' Brindellone near Piazza del Carmine, but make sure to reserve a table several days prior, it is always very busy, mostly with locals
>Another great, cheap, local restaurant is da Sabatino, near Porta San Frediano, try the roast beef and the pasta with rigaglie di pollo
>go to the Mercato Centrale, it's fine, but I would recommend a visit to the Mercato di Sant'Ambrogio, especially the Trattoria da Rocco inside the market (only open for lunch)
>if you want to try local food, have a panino col lampredotto in Piazza Sant'Ambrogio, Tripperia Pollini, only open for lunch, but make sure to arrive early because the line can be very long

Friend, Europe as a ‘local experience’ for tourists, particularly in major cities / cruise ship destinations is dead. Either the actual local places don’t want you there and won’t let you know where they are, or in most cases, they’ve been run out of business by tourist traps because most tourists won’t eat actual local cuisine and just want pizza or some variation of spaghetti with tomato sauce or kebabs.

So many cities and towns in Europe are completely devoid of any local culture other than the old architecture because it’s infinitely more profitable to cater to tourists, the majority of whom don’t really want to go far out of their comfort zone, so you just get overpriced, homogenized slop wherever you go.

Just enjoy the overpriced tourist experience and then fuck off back to burgerville. tia
