Buongiorno bitches. I'm going to Italy soon. Sorento, Firenze and roma. Any restaurant or market recommendations? Any must-try local delicacies?
>>21107445If it has a sign out front, it’s probably a tourist trap. If they have an English menu with pictures it’s 100% a tourist trap.
>>21107445Subway is always my go to.If they have a sbarro, I'll get some fresh pasta from there.I usually get my pizza from Domino's.
>>21107445Lot's of Halal food to choose from I hear
when I went to Italy I brought my own food.
>>21107445The Central Market in Florence is a must visit.Pizza Gusto and Il Pacchero are the best pizzas in the city, both in Santo Spirito across the river.Avoid any restaurants in the busy tourist squares and streets, they're all garbage. Look where the locals eat and go there.
>>21107696Grazie fratello.
I went to this place in 2015, it was great.https://www.cuocoecamicia.it/
>>21107807Looks nice but I'm probably not gonna drop twenty euro on a piece of octopus for my kids, even though they love grilled octopus.
>>21107445Yeah rent a car and go to smaller towns all over italy that arent' flooded with tourists after you see the major cities. Look up more expensive restaurants in Florence that off the beaten path. There are some good steak houses and places that sell good pastas with board ragu. There are so many cool cities around Tuscany, Umbria, Le Marche that you should visit. I really feel bad for people who go there and a take a fucking bus from shitty city to shitty city.
>>21108056Our stay in Sorento will be mostly day trips down the amalfi coast. But my kids want to see roma and I love Firenze, where my parents are from.
>>21108047Just looked at the menu. Definitely wasn't that pricy when I went. Thanks, Joe Biden!
>>21108061yeah cool bro florenze is nice next trip rent a car and actually see the country you are supposedly form.
>>21107445Trattoria Vecchia Roma in via Ferruccio, Metro A stop Vittorio Emanuele. Take a Carbonara, an artichoke salad and something with oxtail (coda) with a quarter liter of red wine each. Screencap this post and then let me know. You have to reserve in advance because of tripadvisor and korean drones. It is good decent roman food with good portion and possibly the best carbonara for their price. If like any tourist you go to Trastevere then Carlo Menta is the way to go. Just dont buy coke on the street there unless you have a good lawyerhttps://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/europe/gabriel-natale-hjorth-rome-mario-cerciello-rega-murder-b2580347.htmlAlso it is jubilee year so be prepared for rising prices to appease the man in white and his mob.
florence is definitely where I had the best meals in italy.go to any restaurant that has some pasta with pears and cheese. such a good combination.
>>21108340>pasta with pears and cheese.had this at three separate restaurants last time i was in florence, absolutely delicious
>>21108340one more reason to dislike tuscans
>>21107445All'antico Vinaio is a touristy sandwich joint in Rome but honestly they made the best sandwich I've ever eaten in my life. porchetta, creamed potato, and parmesan cream on focaccia.
>>21107445Pizza hut
>>21108061Luciano Pignataro is an authority on southern Italian food and wine. Here's his list of pizzerie in the Napels area (capital excluded): https://www.lucianopignataro.it/a/le-migliori-pizzerie-in-provincia-di-napoli/258443/.Gambero Rosso used to be very good but has become very commercial but they still recommend decent entry-level as well as some classics. Here's their list of typical Roman dishes and where to eat them in Rome: https://www.gamberorosso.it/ristoranti/roma/For must-try local delicacies Slow Food is head and shoulders above the rest. Go into a book store and find "Osterie d'Italia" and try whichever they recommend. They also got lists with rare cheeses, salumni, wines etc etc. Here's a really good trick: look for older, wel-dressed men in the streets and hope they speak English or learn some basic Italian. Ask them where to eat, where to find wine etc. Don't ask women, they'll send you to places they think you'll like as a tourist, not the authentic proper traditional spots.https://www.slowfood.com/biodiversity-programs/ark-of-taste/
>>21107493Lot is of halal food? What sort of food is lot?
>>21107445Buongiorno faggot. Born and raised florentine here, here's a few recommendations:>avoid L'Antico Vinaio at all costs, it is a pointless tourist trap and the owner is a fucking greedy cunt>for a good steak, both in terms of price and quality, go to I' Brindellone near Piazza del Carmine, but make sure to reserve a table several days prior, it is always very busy, mostly with locals>Another great, cheap, local restaurant is da Sabatino, near Porta San Frediano, try the roast beef and the pasta with rigaglie di pollo>go to the Mercato Centrale, it's fine, but I would recommend a visit to the Mercato di Sant'Ambrogio, especially the Trattoria da Rocco inside the market (only open for lunch)>if you want to try local food, have a panino col lampredotto in Piazza Sant'Ambrogio, Tripperia Pollini, only open for lunch, but make sure to arrive early because the line can be very longHope this was helpful, enjoy your trip
>>21107445Go to the Jewish ghetto in Rome and get a panfried artichoke
>>21109099>All'antico VinaioIt's a chain, they have one in Florence too. Great sandwiches
Check out the original Olive Garden where it all started
>>21109229>>21109471Grazie mille cunts. These are great recommendations.
>>21109518that's in Jerusalem, retard
>Romego with bakeries, don't bother with restaurants because they're managed by non-Italians most of the time
Travel to eat is quite possibly the most American phenomenon.
>>21107445Friend, Europe as a ‘local experience’ for tourists, particularly in major cities / cruise ship destinations is dead. Either the actual local places don’t want you there and won’t let you know where they are, or in most cases, they’ve been run out of business by tourist traps because most tourists won’t eat actual local cuisine and just want pizza or some variation of spaghetti with tomato sauce or kebabs. So many cities and towns in Europe are completely devoid of any local culture other than the old architecture because it’s infinitely more profitable to cater to tourists, the majority of whom don’t really want to go far out of their comfort zone, so you just get overpriced, homogenized slop wherever you go.Just enjoy the overpriced tourist experience and then fuck off back to burgerville. tia
>>21109656This. I was in Rome last year and it seemed 9/10 restaurants were ran by pakis.
>>21109656Panini griminali, scentoscelle. Nnamooo!
