Be honest, what NEETS have used this before?
>>21108692How about you die for the kikes you reamed out these past 30 years boomer faggot
>>21108683It's a shit waste of money. Do not buy it. I'm sick of posting my rant.
I don't know how you haven't noticed from the state of this board but NEETs don't buy stuff like that, they just eat fast food and cheap frozen/instant asian slop everyday. The American ones, at least.
>>21108753nah fuck off asiatic turkroach
I used blue apron for a short while and it was pretty good. I moved to a better neighborhood with more options now so I just go out or get delivery when I'm pressed for time but these kinds of services have a certain appeal if you're not a NEET (don't know how you'd afford that if you were NEET)
>>21108776And you're so lazy you type like you're ESL as well. I understand you Americans can barely afford to survive but you shouldn't give up completely. Have some self-respect.
why is everyone so angry
>>21108683I did it years ago when it was fairly new, and got it a couple more times in the past ~2 years (generally as gifts for my mom in another state)Was very pleased with the overall presentation - the recipe cards teach clever techniques for maximizing ingredients, and things like one-pan cooking styles that novices may be completely unaware of. I learned a few techniques from it even though I was a fairly experienced home cook prior to trying it.Only sign up if you have it on discount/special reduced deal (which for me, was every single time, really stretching the subscription value)> Things I really really liked from HelloFreshTheir seasoning packets - I loved their 'ethnic' seasoning powdered mixes, and their finely powdered italian seasoning mix is the BEST I've had (i'm trying to find a supplier of something comparable to their italian seasoning powdered herb mix). I enjoy the convenience of their single-meal ingredients like those shot-size balsamic vinegars, or individual packs of sesame oil.Once you kinda know what you're doing you can improvise their recipes a lot and even repurpose some of their provisions for your own meals if it's tasty.>A style of cooking that I only ever heard of from HelloFresh that I now make a staple:They have a Chicken breast filet recipe that involves mixing some type of cream mix (typically something like mayo, or sour cream) with an herb mix and then slathering it on one side of the breasts, and putting them on a baking tray. Then you affix panko style breadcrumbs to that marinaded side of the meat, ignoring the other side that has no marinade nor breadcrumbs. Then you bake it.The breadcrumbs + mayo/seasoning mix create a very flavorful crust and melt seasoned fat into the chicken as it cooks. I've adopted it for turkey breasts and it's equally good>Worth it?my mom was in a fairly depressed slump at the time when i first ordered her a hellofresh box. I picked meals that I thought she would like, and she did>cont
>>21108817overall I think they provide a worthwhile service - the food is generally being misdirected from discarded/trash in some cases, and I was never unhappy with the quality. I never saw obvious degenerate or subversive messaging, advertising, packaging, or anything of the sort. It taught me some recipes/cooking styles that I probably wouldn't have otherwise learnedAlso the pictures of the food they take and print on the cards are REALLY well done. I cut them out as a reminder of each recipe and to create something that I could use as an "order off of this" for picky eaters if they want to know what kind of food I can make for them
>>21108823These ones
yeah I realize "every dish features carbs"I love carbs. carbs are delicious, simple asthey had lots of options for low carb or vegan or whatever the heck restrictions you want, I selected caloriemaxxed plates almost every time !!!!!!!
>>21108792turkroach faggot kike
>>21108793It's just same faggot OP. Let him have this, it's his only entertainment
>>21108997Retard
>>21108753So you're saying Hellofresh is actually top tier quality? faggot?
>>21108793/ck/ for some reason has this poster now that abuses people starting threads. Maybe the shills are running a new strategy: rather than promote fast food like they were before, demoralize everyone into not wanting to post at all. So, if you're not going to post positively about our slop, we're gonna make you not post at all.
It's a perfectly reasonable way to get into cooking if you didn't learn growing up. Not much reason to continue once you've picked up those skills though. Such was my experience anyway.
>>21109473that seems to be a recurring theme here because anyone who actually tries hard eventually expresses an opinion that frustrates a janny and they get banned, but no-effort shitposting doesn't attract attention so they can just crapflood the board with angry childish posts all day
>>21108683We occasionally had it as a family of four, it worked out to be fairly cheap as if you unsubscribe for a while they beg you to come back with a good deal. Yummy stuff.Very occasionally there's an ingredient missing, never been a big deal, but mention this to them and they'll give you more discounts.Only complaint would be about the amount of plastic waste. Not had it by my lone though, should go through the recipes and buy some ingredients to make some again…
>>21109759Agree with this, yeah. It's very expensive, compared to the cost of its ingredients. You're basically paying the restaurant price and a markup for every meal, but you're also cooking it yourself and the produce is usually low quality, undersized as fuck, or just straight grocery rejects. The meat portions are small and they'll regularly forget some of the ingredients. And if they get everything? It's all in little plastic bottles and packets. It's so wasteful but not too many people besides me care about that.>>21109792>>21108823>worthwhile service>fairly cheapI said I wouldn't rant about HelloScam but I'm about to.HelloTrash loves to offer you deals like $50 or $200 off or various other bullshit promises when what it really means is "$10 off your next 8 purchase of $80 or more." They throw 100% false advertising unless you look at the fine print on the offer, since all of their food plans are to the tune of 2 meals a week for two people ($50), or more. They also upcharge you for ""premium"" dishes that use half-decent ingredients like filets and seafood, but that might be one of their less objectionable decisions.People who think it's a 'good deal' are budgetary retards, full stop. All you need to do is itemize a single menu off the GoodbyeMoney website and you can make anything they off for just about 60% of the price.Their portion sizes are also kinda tiny, but that's more relevant if you're a fatfuck.>>21108830>>21108833I like your closet, very creative for kids. It's really great you were able to do something so positive with their recipe cards, I just can't recommend anyone stick with this crap meal plan (or any meal plan agency) for longer than a few months.
>>21108683i dont like the idea of all the carbon emissions shipping food directly to my house would emit, so I just avoid iti also like to choose what ill eat and how to prepare
>>21109825I'm pretty sure their deals / specials/ discounts used to be much better. Regularly I would sign up with something like -75% off, 2-3 deliveries, and cancel, and every time I worked out the cost per meal it was very, very low, and clearly worth it. Probably they realized word of mouth/advertising got out enough that they're starting to lose money with everybody cancelling after the promotional boxes. Now I think it's correct that the discount is only fully realized if you stay subscribed for every box, but I'm not completely sure. Ultimately I think it probably introduced more good than bad, when you consider how absolutely awful, poisonous, and parasitic a lot of "sustenance" options are these day.
>>21109938I used HF in like 2019 and 2020. In general, no, their deals were always fat garbage.
>>21109960I dunno man maybe it depends on where you live. It also depends on how you are viewing the time/value/nutrition/taste. If you are a bad cook the resulting meals will probably always seem to be terribly low quality and not worth it. If you are a great cook you'll probably be surprised and happy with how many new dishes you're making that are way better than anything you'd have got from take-out. Cost of living in my area is one of the highest in the world, and I was paying ~$28 for "4 meals"at $7/meal I cooked myself I ended up with approximately the same or more food as I would have had on a takeout dish, at much higher quality and standards. It also increased my culinary palette and kitchen skillset, and introduced new ingredients to me. That wouldn't have happened if I ordered takeout or spent the money on foods/dishes I'm already familiar with. The exact-portioning is very nice for quick meal prep. The tips in the recipe/method cards occasionally enlighten you to ways that you can consistently shave off time and effort in the kitchen, causing compound improvements in your abilities and satisfaction with cooking.>pic related a snapshot of some of the prices. If you ever get more than the 'minimum' of meals on any serving you're also greatly increasing the value. Which brings up an important point!HelloFresh portions are certainly on the modest size, so if you are of huge stature the value will definitely seem low. If you are an average or smaller sized person it will be just right, probably.
>>21108683I've been a subscriber for like 4 yearsI like not having to grocery shop or really think about what I'm going to eatAlso I get to prep my own food so no wagie can spit in itIt's very expensive but worth it for me because I'm a recluse and I can afford it easily
Factor?
It's not worth the money but you can abuse the free boxes by >Using a new email>Using a new card>Using a new addressI think if you pay to "upgrade" you get 2 weeks of dinner for $20, which is cheaper than groceries. If your bank lets you do virtual cards this is ezpz. I used to ship boxes to my workplace lol
I love it
I used to get hellofresh delivered when I traveled for work. I would regularly be at home for only a couple days at a time so I scheduled boxes to be there for me to make ready to go, pre-portioned meals so I wouldn't have to fuck around going to the grocery store, and I wouldn't have leftovers to spoil while I was gone. It's absolutely not worth it if you are paying full price, but it's easy to always have a discount. Like anon says >>21110362 you can use fake emails, fake addresses, and keep getting a "new member" discount. If you stop the service then after a few weeks they'll send you discount cards to try and get you back in. Oh yeah that's one thing to keep in mind, if you give these fuckers your mailing address you will NEVER stop receiving spam mail. It's been 2 years now since I've used this shit and I still get 3-4 advertisements a month.
>>21110316tried factor and it was incredibly bleak. dangerously small portions no matter what, and they rely on excessively trying to upsell you on add-ons and sloppa like fried sides or desserts>>21110392yep, concur, it's not hard to have discounts and deals, and it's very possible for you to make it an effect usage of your own time for your lifestyle
>>21108683>Be honest, what NEETS have used this before? The type that desperately wants to fit in.>plays rugby or does boxing>does pole dancing>has tattoos>works in HR or a toothpaste company>single parent>botoxB...But... I'm passionate. I can cook! I'm a person too! Fuck off.
angry shitposter anon theory to make the board less engaging might be true
>>21110080no way someone put this much effort into a shit post. how much they paying you? 20 bucks?
>>21111374i figured somebody would say something like that but nah i'm the guy with the circle cards cutout as a menu aid on my pantry, i saw merits in something and wanted to speak on themwelcome to america
i used it before. its as others have said, youre paying for the convenience. it was a god send when i was in a slump, i cancelled when i stopped needing it. i get back on it sometimes when work starts picking up and im stressed out
It's more like a craft project than a meal but it's still fun. Wouldn't pay for it though.
>>21108683I've used a similar one. It's pretty okay. Cheaper to shop for yourself, but if you don't know what you like it allows you to try stuff and decide what kinda food you enjoy. It's definitely not worth the money. But if you're especially lazy and clueless about cooking, it's honestly not that bad.
>>21108753pretty much, i eat instant oatmeal and ramen most of the timesome toasted english muffines with cheese if im vfeeling fancy
>>21108683Not many because NEETs are lazy and HF just delivers ingredients, not full meals.
>>21108683Got a free sample once and it was pretty okay. It felt like a boxed meal thing with more steps. Definitely aimed at people who don't really know how to cook but want to feel like they can. The menu seems to have a lot of weird "fusion" foods that mistake "complicated" for "complex"
>>21108793because most anons here are just hungry and bored at work
>>21109867> i dont like the idea of all the carbon emissions shipping food directly to my house would emit,I’m trans btw, not sure if that matters
I might try it once. The way things are going anymore, it might actually cost less than going to the local grocery store.
