This is a thread for all the cheap and inexpensive sandwiches that enrich our daily lives. Post your best and cheapest fillings you like.
For me? It's Coronation Chicken or Mortadella with olives with butter as a spread and lots of ripe homegrown tomatoes.
>>
>>21108820
cold cuts is too extravagent. it's either butter and sugar, plain PB, or PB & J
>>
>>21108824
Butter and sprinkles/hundreds and thousands is a rare delight.
>>
When I'm feeling lazy I like to get a baguette from balthazar and just hack it open sideways with my yo-deba and shove some tuna belly chunks on there with mayo, broccoli microgreens, caper berries, a squeeze of lemon, and a few pinches of sel guerandais. Simple, easy, and it's not too terrible for you other than the mercury
>>
>>21108824
Speaking of which; peanut butter has to be the most nutritious spread for a sandwich? I'd rather milled peanuts made into a paste than rapeseed oil that has to be extracted with butane.

The humble -salad sandwich
Eggsalad, chicken salad (made from canned chicken breast) or tuna salad can really stretch a penny for a nigga in the cut. Bonus points for adding whatever vegetables into the salad chopped real fine, like onions or peppers so you can stretch it even further.

The cheapest shit I eat is like a whole quarter of one of these packs, flopped on some bread with lots of mayo, a little black pepper, and a slice of swiss or cheddar. You know it's not high quality, but it's perfectly tasty in one of those moods and has been processed beyond any rough or sinewy bits like other cheap deli hams

Peanut butter. Anything else is wrong.

I like sandwiches but the meat is stupid expensive where I live, like one pack of salami, turkey slices or anything else I could put on it costs 3 euros, weighs 100 grams and yields only five sandwiches, in comparison I could use those 3 euros to just buy around 350 grams of normal meat. It sucks because I have lots of classes where I need to eat something in between and making sandwiches is really easy and fast but too expensive.

olive muertedella with american cheese on soft untoasted white loaf

it's the bee's tits.

if you're a fantsy pance you can add mayo or canola oil
>>
>>21108852
I'm quite sure that was the joke, retard. Motherfucker mentioned Balthazar. Aunt nobody worrying about money buying jack shit from Balthazar.
>>21108824
You may have a point. I often get PB as cheap as a single dollar, ffs, and there are at least ten sandwiches in a single jar. Combine that with a load of 99¢ white bread and you've got ten sandwiches for $2. Adding jam or jelly only increases the cost by, like, $1.49. That's ten sandwiches for 35¢ each. The only thing that even comes close (other than the cheapest option of simple bread and butter), is on-sale tuna with mayonnaise as a salad. You can get tuna for 69¢ or less on sale and one tin makes two sandwiches at 50¢ per (35¢ for each serving of tuna, 10¢ per pair of bread slices, 5¢ worth of mayonnaise). Nothing else gets near that.

That price is comparable to where I live in the US but thankfully, in comparison to back home (in from Italy originally), America has a ridiculous number of ways to lower grocery bills and I can often get freshly sliced deli meat for, to convert for our weights and currency, under €4 per half kg. Often even less. Most Americans simply don't do any of the cost saving measures for some reason. They're super simple to do, take seconds to set up and lower grocery costs by 66% or more.
>>
>>21109462
unfried mortadella? untoasted bread? american cheese? canola oil? the fuck is wrong with you?
>>
>>21109513
nobody fries muertedella anon are you shrooming? but also you are right, it's good if it's in maybe a toasted sandwich. as for american cheese we're talking cheap and delicious and frankly that's what it is.

and don't poopoo canola oil as a lubricant, it's in half the shit you eat already, as a lubricant.

cand chicken breast is actually supreme. it's easy of course, but pound for pound it's not cheep.

it's fucking awesome for chiggin salad
>>
>>21108820
just a tomato sandwich for me boss
>>
>>21108820
I wouldn't consider quality italian deli meat "economy" whatsoever, so maybe it's low tier.

I like an old fashioned grilled cheese with 2 cheeses, and a cup of soup for economy. If you have a stocked kitchen, a BLT isn't much work or money, also, even if you put 4-5 slices in there as I do.
>>
>>21109568
tomada slices on sliced bread? not bad for a snackle but where's the protein? what snackle do you have when you need the protein?

Anyone use a mandoline to slice meat? I have pic related, which is heavier duty than most mandolines, but it still seems to be made primarily for veggies. Any particular meat that would work well with it?
>>
>>21111824
Protip: it is easier to thinly slice meat if it is near freezing.
>>
>>21111824
If I have a ¥uge house someday with a ¥uge kitchen and money for everything I would love one of those or something similar. But, for now and foreseeable future I just ask the deliman to slice it up for me

>>

>fantsy pance
lmao too poor to spell right. I guess PB&J just doesn't provide any nutritional value
>>
>>21108820
So basically 1 ciabatta roll,
1 chicken tendie, maybe 2
Some mozzarella, you can use as much as you want
Some pizza sauce
and some garlic aioli
There isn't much to it, you cook the tendie and brown the ciabatta roll, spread the aioli on the bun, put some sauce on there, put some chicken on there, put some cheese on there, and close it all up. If you cut it in half you're twice as fancy as i am.

not if you make it and slice it yourself. a deli slicer is an investment. I make sliced roast chicken breast for $2 a pound instead of whatever the sliced shit costs now (like $5 a pound or whatever just for Great Value brand)

nothing about that post was "cheap" or "inexpensive". everything has a cost whether you directly pay for it or not.

a baloney sandwich with random bread and mayo is cheaper than your sandwich. hell a sandwich from a subway shop would be cheaper.

The caloric density of peanut butter is one of the most shocking and tragic of all things when youre on a diet. A jar of peanutbutter can sustain an adult male for 3 days.
