Did a corn chowder to pair with braised short ribs last night. Tried adding a bit of lemon juice, dill, and cilantro to brighten it so it would better offset the rich meat and sauce and it worked out nicely for that. I'd say it was slightly worse on its own for the addition but much better as a pairing with the slow-cooked meat.

What kind of lower calorie Substitute is good to use for it? Something that can still thicken the soup, while not sacrificing much of the Flavor.

When it gets cold I do a sausage, kale, and white bean soup. It's not a complicated recipe.
>slice sausage and brown
>sweat onion, celery, carrots and garlic
>add your white beans and chicken stock
>simmer till the beans are to your liking while you skim some fat
>chop up the kale and add with cream at the end
Adjust to what you enjoy more, it's very tasty. This is one I made last year, don't think I had the sausage in this one. It's great with or without.

>First patent (vol. 33 n. 256) for the Espresso Machine, by Mr. Angelo Moriondo, dated May 16, 1884.

>The machine consisted of a large boiler that pushed the heated water through a bed of coffee grounds and extracted them with the water’s steam. The pressure generated was only around 1.5 bars, meaning that no crema formed on top of the coffee liquor.

>The high temperatures of around 130-140C in the groups and the almost inevitable contact with the steam scalded the coffee cake, so the eventual espresso was black in color, smelled burnt, and tasted bitter. It was delivered in around forty-five seconds and served in a significantly larger volume than today.

Italians realized about 50 years later you can boil water at home as well.

every time my fat stupid whore of a mother tries to make soup, she never bothers to add any seasoning, I shit you not she doesn't even add salt. nor does she have the capacity to even google a recipe. One time she put raw beef in a pot with miso broth and called it "taco miso soup". It enrages me so much but my legs barely fucking work so I struggle physically to cook anymore. I used to so it almost every night just so I wasn't forced to consume her slop but my condition has worsened so bad I can barely handle standing over the stove to heat myself up a packet of buldak. it genuinely is a miserable existence.

Doesn't look like soup.

Nature is healing.
>>

Yep. Coffee changed forever. I look every day at my V60 with disgust, knowing I could be making soup.

looks like a bed
its relatively flat so it probably extracted relatively evenly throughout and youve got fines up the walls so the filter is doing its job but theres really not anything else you can take away from a picture of a bed
did it taste good? now thats a better question
>>
>>21587317
It tasted of coffee.

No actually it didn't taste how I expected it. It had this sort of bitter section between the "tasting" and "aftertaste" periods, the 1.5 taste time if you will. Not sure which I should try to extract less.
>>
>>21587333
of course it did, its coffee
i asked if i t tasted good
>>21587372
i could try to help you troubleshoot it if you provide more information about the coffee and your technique

if youve never had bad coffee youre either lucky or a tastelet
>>
>>21587454
Even bad coffee can taste good if you associate it with good memories.
>>
>>21587454
>if you like coffee you're a tastelet
Ok lance you showed me
>>
>>21587465
Yet your still a faglet that drinks coffee.
You cant get up without folgers in your cup.
>>
>>21587464
I'm not a faggot that associates memories with coffee. Why are you a moron?
>>
The only thing that I associate with coffee is a stomach ache. The only people that drink coffee are freaked out weirdo mid level manager types.
>>
You people don't go on coffee dates?
Never wake up to the aroma of a fresh brew?
Haven't ever been brought a hot cup of coffee while too busy to think?
>>
Never been on a road trip and stopped to get some fast food or gas station coffee?
>>
>>21587464
ok well in the context of trying to improve a particular cup that lacks former associations, thats not really a factor
>>21587465
if your underexposed palate lacks distinction, you can count yourself lucky that you dont have to spend more on specialty coffee to enjoy your cup
>>
>>21587487
How would I wake up the aroma if I need to be awake to make my soup? Do you use a timed drip brewer instead of an oxo, anon?
>>
>>21587487
>Haven't ever been brought a hot cup of coffee while too busy to think?
i haven't but i've made coffee for my husband while he was at work
>>
>>21580826
That sounds good and reminds me of the Olive Garden but with the beans.
>>
>>21587691

>>

Not soupy enough.

At least you get a half-cute workwife, right. Right?
