Much like anything, there's a lot of snobby bourbon connoisseurs. I know there's rare Pappy's and shit that I'll never drink, but for my money, nothing beats Knob Creek. Depending on age they're easily affordable for even the poors, and get kinda expensive if you want a deeper age. But at every level it beats every other comparable bourbon I've tried.

For me, it's Russell's Reserve.

if it's brown and it burns going down, it's good enough for me.

There is already a whiskey general

This thread is about bourbon.

ALL BOURBON IS WHISKEY, BUT NOT ALL WHISKEY IS BOURBON. Do you even understand the 51% corn requirement? Do you even know what charred new American oak smells like, or is your nose too clogged with that bottom-shelf Canadian swill? It’s a legal standard. It’s a heritage. If it didn't touch the limestone water of Kentucky, you’re basically drinking filtered dirt.

Stop nodding like you get it. You don't. You’re drinking a rectangle; I’m sipping the platonic ideal of a square. Now get out before I find a glass you’re actually worthy of which is a literal thimble of tap water.

Yes, which means ALL bourbon can be discussed in the whiskey general.

Also, the whiskey general is ALREADY 80-90% bourbon, so not sure what the fuck you think the problem is.

>so not sure what the fuck you think the problem is
You're not a bourbon man, this much is obvious. I wouldn't dare share a stall with a scotch man.

Rye not?
>>
>>21923880
Ah so this is just the whiskey general, but excluding scotch drinkers.

Rye, corn whiskey, bourbon, all accepted here despite not all being bourbon.
>>
>>21923788
Middle aged white men from the deep red parts of the midwest (think, Dakotas, Iowa etc) tend to have the best taste in bourbon and can offer the best recommendations in my opinion.
>>
It’s so nice being able to talk about real whiskey without people bringing up that 80 proof swill that has been artificially colored to appear as whiskey.
>>
>>21923897
That's not fair.
I saw people posting whiskey in the last whisky general
>>
>>21923816
Scotch is better
>>
>>21923788
I like michters, makers mark, eagle rare and McKenna 10 over knob creek 9 but the 12 is holy shit good

I didn't like the knob 9. It tasted really bad to me, never really had that before.

Personally im a big fan of four roses singlebarrel
>>

Knob creek has a strong peanut flavor either you like it or not.
>>
>>21925346
oh yeah thats probably it, was a few years ago but I remember now. It didnt taste like the peanut itself to me. It tasted like a fuck load of the reddish/brown peanut skins
