I remember my brother took me to see the latest Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, and I had no fucking idea what the story was about. It was a pleasant surprise to find yaoi kino. It's a shame about the controversy surrounding Rowling and the fact that the film bombed at the box office. Mikkelsen would have rocked his role.

>>3967071Fantastic Beasts suffered more from the recasting of Grindelwald halfway through with the Depp-Heard trial more than JKR's social media. They weren't perfect films by any means but I thought Mikkelsen was better than Depp's Burtonesque Gellert. Grindeldore really could have become interesting with another 1-2 films of development but the abrupt cancellation feels like the films stopped right when it was picking up. With twinky younger guys, the vibe is more mindbreaky, which is more fun for me

I can't be the only one who thinks there's something weirdly artificial about the new kid playing Harry, right? Every picture that I've seen of him so far has a very uncanny valley feeling.Is it just my brain being weird?

>>4042358It's the styling. The size of his glasses and his tousled only on the top hair throws it off. He has way more charisma and natural appeal in real life than comes through in the styling on the show. The wardrobe and makeup department has gone out of their way to make some of these actors look less good looking than they do in real life. Draco's actor also suffers from this. Weird to take a good base then muck them up to look homely. Costuming is shit as well.

The costuming all around is shit, I have to agree.I think the wardrobe and makeup department are trying too hard to lean into "it's a children's book!" and make things feel almost cartoonish. Which I suppose kind of works... until they get to The Prisoner of Azkaban at least.
