Also I'll probably make another nugget thread on /trash/ once I have time/enough saved up to borderline max it in a day. The archive for /trash/ is bretty gud if nothing else.
Anyone find any headcanons they really liked?I legitimately though they'd bathe Curly in mouthwash as disinfectant and I've been curious about how fans have taken his treatment in the time we do not see him.
>>3931730It's frankly a miracle for Curly to have not died from infection due to basically being an open wound. I wish there was more content, be it art or fic, that centered on the chaos of what happened immediately after the crash. Did Curly lose his limbs because he was stuck in the foam and Jimmy just ripped him out? Horrifying to imagine desu
wait, the bandaged dude I'm seeing everywhere on twitter is the hot blond guy? wtf I thought he was just a monster like slenderman or something

Who do you think most popular character would be, if the fandom didn't consist that much groups of people (tumblr, twitter etc you know what I mean)?Like, obviously nugget Curly is most recognisable and popular character amongst all. But ignoring him, really.
>>3931730I have some headcanons about CurlyLike I said in previous thread for example, Curly's into a fishing and very invested in old western aesthetics. I have others too, but wanna bring out next point. More or less kinda theory too, but I think Curly's overworking himself. He as a pilot, realistically should get good rest and sleep, so he wouldn't make mistakes, go insane etc. Though pony express wouldn't allow him to do that. One poster says that's only 5 hours sleep is maximum. I had one screenshot of that maybe would post that if no one minds
I really dig bichianti's art.
>>3931813I assume they ship Jimcurly. I really like their arts especially on anatomy, and how they draw Jimmy too. It also interesting to read about their points in comments in reddit and etc.
>>3931792Daisuke because he's easy to tumblrfy. The constant tumblrfication of him because he's the most "morally acceptable" man to like has grown to make me hate him. Him not being particularly interesting as a character doesn't help either. Literally added last minute by WO to increase the despair factor
I'm not against Daisuke personally, he's pretty chill dude. But baby fication by tiktok and tumblr makes him way too not serious and accountable as character. Just thought maybe other characters wouldn't get different rating. It also affects Anya. Like, some people just focus on her being victim and nothing else (doing shit posts of her killing Jimmy in special days). Kinda Swansea too, thinking he's only caring father figure(downplaying his bad sides). It's really well written game, yet people keep making those characters cartoonshly black and white for lols. I don't mind shit posts and good silly drawings, I actually like them. But sometimes this types grow and lean into more serious stuff, almost making it seem it's canon and they really do think so plain.
>>3931783Yes! This is the kind of dumb crossover I wanna see. Both MW and the PM series are a look into a future where corporate greed and human suffering has escalated to nonsensical lengths. The MW characters would fit right at home(and die just as quickly) in The City.Swansea spent a million years in the WARP trains and doesn't realize it.
>>3931783>>3931785>>3931786>>3931787Can I get a qrd on what this series is about?
>>3931835Also they keep ignoring one of the themes being, how pony express is capitalistic shitty company that don't care about employees. Like, no shit. They're ready to hire a psychopath envious freak, a nurse that doesn't actually had certificate or doctor's degree (she failed to get into medical school 8 times(not downplaying her skills as a nurse, but realistically she shouldn't be hired) and young adult that didn't have any experience at all at jobs. Heck even Swansea's past addiction on alcohol. Isn't it obvious, that they'd hire anyone just to not pay too much on actually good workers?Mostly they only focus on Anya's rape like it's main point, though clearly there's more and other important stuff too.
>>3931835>people keep making those characters cartoonshly black and white for lolsThis is why it annoys me that they can't excuse people enjoying Jimmy as a villain; if they can look the other way on Swansea's drinking, Daisuke's wealth, and Anya's incapabilities, they should not get up people's asses about people who look the other way about the rape shit. My personal feelings about rape in media are that it's almost never necessary as a plot device and IMO if you're going to do a story about it, actually CENTER THE GODDAMN WOMAN. Mouthwashing is a terrible narrative about rape because you're literally playing the men! But they also look the other way on that and say the game is perfectly written. Nah bro, actually, it didn't need to have a rape in it at all, and could have done everything the exact same way in the story without the rape. So I'm going to choose to engage with that part of the narrative, exactly the same way others are choosing not to engage with Swansea's drinking, Daisuke's wealth inequality, and Anya being unqualified.
thinking about their past game, "how fish is made" it's obviously have similarities and meanings for mouthwashing (Especially to Curly) Though it makes me also wonder who actually was the main character of the game. Technically it could be the reason why they made Jimmy obviously an asshole with no good or redeeming qualities, while Curly can't even do or talk in game (mostly), yet he's probably the most discussed and talked character of all. He technically also face of it, nugget Curly is again, most recognized pieces from the game . He's probably the first character ever made and realised.
>>3931868>IMO if you're going to do a story about it, actually CENTER THE GODDAMN WOMANI personally disagree. I have my criticisms of the story but Mouthwashing was never about Anya or the experiences of rape victims. It's about Jimmy, his fucked up thoughts and all the excuses he makes for himself to avoid responsibility. He's a villain protagonist like Patrick Bateman, we're looking into his perspective to understand his internal logic that leads him to making horrible decisions. We didn't really "need" the rape reveal but it's something that happens in real life, there's often no justification for why a terrible thing might've happened to you or someone you know. We didn't need Jimmy to forcefeed Curly his own leg either, cannibalism is less likely to happen than rape, and yet extreme gore isn't 10% as contentious as rape because it isn't sexual(though one can argue the way jimmy abuses nugget curly is meant to parallel rape in some way). Now if you want my criticisms, I just think the game is too unsubtle about it's themes. Apparently WO's initial intent was that you weren't sure if you were playing Jimmy or Curly's POV till the end. I think that would've made for a more compelling experience, but that idea got discarded in favor of more direct storytelling.
How do I get over Curly so I can get out of this fandom, anons? I'm weak for baras and eroguro and he caters to both of those, but the constant hate he gets is so tiring to see.
>>3931894You misunderstand, I don't think making Anya the main character would fix Mouthwashing. I agree with you that it's not actually about rape or rape victims, the story is about a toxic psychotic man losing his mind and dying horribly in deep space while destroying all the lives around him. I don't want a full shift to being about Anya's sexual assault with Anya as the main character. However from reading some posts online who insist "it's a woman's story" it's clear that a lot of people are 100% focused on the rape and have misinterpreted the narrative to be 100% about the rape, wanting to erase the men in the story, when that's literally 96% of the game. I think we actually agree on that.I do think we disagree on how rape is used in media. I know it happens randomly and nonsensically in real life, but real life is not fiction. If you're going to use a sensitive topic in a piece of fiction I really feel it's your responsibility to approach it thoughtfully. There's such a long history of media using the rape of a woman as a catalyst for men's stories. I think a modern media company should take this history into account IF they want to tell a thoughtful story. If they don't give a shit and want to use rape as a random act of violence to make a character more despicable or make a bad situation worse for shock value then whatever, they can do that, but I don't think it has the same narrative value and I don't think it's worth praising. This studio's games are already low-key splatterpunk, using gore and body horror for shock value, so I wasn't surprised there was rape in it. I just think it was in a bit of a careless way and I don't think they deserve that much praise for that part of the storyline.
>>3931837It's gonna take a lot of explaining because it encompasses 2.5 games, a webnovel and a webcomic. Limbus Company requires knowledge of the previous 2 games Lobotomy Corporation and Library of Ruina. If you don't wanna be a secondary, start with LobCorp, if you hate the gameplay, at least watch a LP. It's a roguelite management sim where you deal with SCP-like monsters called Abnormalities to extract Enkephalin with a goal of creating a Seed of Light. As you complete missions you progress the story and learn about the various NPCs, their true backstories and help them through their traumas. Gradually the true nature of the Seed of Light project is unveiled as well as well as lore details showing just how fucked up The City is. Ruina and Limbus are direct sequels to LobCorp. The City is actually closer to a continent. It's divided into 26 "wings". Each Wing has a Nest and the Backstreets. Backstreets are like ghettos where people are poverty strucken and die en-mass all the time. Nests are the opposite, where people who are granted access to live in one are guaranteed safety and stability but plenty of Nest residents are still wagies being overworked and at risk of being kicked out at any moment. Each Wing except district A is run by a corporation and they are responsible for providing a singularity, like T-Corp creates time-manipulation technology. A-Corp is directly run by The Head who oversees all Wings and puts laws into place.Within The City there's Fixers that deal with various crimes. Fixers are graded 1-9 with 1 being the strongest, special titles are given to the most powerful fixers giving them a "color" rank, like Gebura "The Red Mist" or Argalia "The Blue Reverberation". Fixers are divided into Associations with their own specialities. You also have Syndicates, criminal organizations with the 5 most powerful also having control over various parts of The City. Not all Syndicates are evil, they're just unlawful.Oh shit I'm running out of space to-
>>3931897>If you're going to use a sensitive topic in a piece of fiction I really feel it's your responsibility to approach it thoughtfully.nta but no. It's fiction. It should be whatever the author wants it to be otherwise you're advocating censorship just because it upsets you.Making a code of conduct in itself is censorship. If I want to write a story for a game where you can rape someone on a whim, I should be able to do that. Would it get scorn? Yes, but there's mods for The fucking Sims that do this right now. Mental health doesn't need to be handled delicately. Race shouldn't NEED to be handled delicately (Metaphor's plot literally centers around open discrimination and people calling you slurs). A brash, insensitive, upsetting story in itself is art if it can get the message across. You can't opt for freedom of expression and get pissed when people show what they wish to express. The corporation that lives in their world does not care about your feelings. That is the impact and somehow I think you've missed it or are refusing to accept that. If you don't like it then drop the fandom and go play an otome
>>3931904>nta but no. It's fiction. It should be whatever the authorThe author can do what they want but it doesn't make them exempt from criticism. Sorry but a lot of media is garbage, they have the right to make it but it doesn't make it not shit.Stop talking to me as if I need to take the context of the game as the rules for the real world. "Corpo doesn't care about your feelings in the game" is not an equivalent to the writers of the game. If they come out and say they just wanted to make shock content, fine. They are allowed to do that. There's ONE woman in the story and she gets raped and pregnant, sorry, that's a shitty story to me. I like other parts of the game, I love the art and character designs, but the handling of the rape is ass.
>>3931901cont.So after the events of Lobotomy Corporation shit called "Distortions" started manifesting. This aspect isn't explained much but from what I gather: it happens when a person is broken down mentally, loses all hope and gives up their personhood. They hear a "voice" and succumb to it transforming them into a non-human looking entity which its appearance pertains to ones own personal failings. Some distortions can be reversed but some are so bad they're gone for good. But if someone reaches that low point and is able to pick themselves back together, still find resolve and retain their personhood, they manifest personal EGO instead. EGO is personalized equipment manifesting from someone's mind. In LobCorp abnos can provide EGO gear and gifts that your agents can equip to get stronger or gain specific perks. Personal EGO is something that manifests from one's own mind and is very powerful, but it's also possible for one to manifest partial-EGO and still distort.Limbus Company is the most recent.... and most popular entry into the Project Moon universe. It's acclaim is understandable because you can f2p it and it's the most casual-friendly. The story is also really good and production values in the later chapters are phenomenal. It's also the first game where the main characters are actually going to various places within the city instead of staying in one building the entire time. It follows the player character Dante, a clockhead with amnesia and 12 other people called "Sinners" who go around collecting golden boughs. Each new Canto(chapter) puts focus on one of the Sinners, they're each based on characters(one of them, an author) from classic literature so their respective Canto heavily references their source material. You CAN go right into Limbus without prior knowledge but I recommend playing LobCorp and then Ruina first, because Limbus-onlies are fucking annoying.
>>3931897I respect your opinion, I'm not a rape victim myself so I can't speak on behalf of them but I want to disagree from a storytelling perspective. There IS purpose to the implied rape, it further puts Curly in a terrifying position. I thought it was just an fan interpretation but with all the anons who came to the same conclusion, it really feels intentional that nugget Curly is suffering as if it was sexual abuse. Jimmy is this guy who refuses to make any sacrifices, he never relinquishes control, he wants to impose his will over others. He is in essence, a rapist and Curly getting nuggetfied is him coming to that realization. Pre-crash Curly knew about the rape but he had higher authority so he thought he could talk-no-jutsu his friend into doing better. He wasn't in any position to fear Jimmy. Well now he's crippled and the rapist can do whatever he wants to him. Curly's fatal flaw was the way he tends to overlook smaller details which made him unable to properly empathize with those who suffered in ways he didn't(dead pixel convo). He is a man afterall, but Jimmy is also a man who fucking hates Curly, and Jimmy thinks the worst punishment to inflict on Curly is feminizing him, treating him like a battered wife. The story doesn't focus much on Anya's trauma insofar as Jimmy isn't concerned with it. It does focus a lot on Curly's dragged out torture because Jimmy cares a whole lot about Curly.Besides that, I feel like including some rape makes sense in a story thematically about a shitty person desperately grasping onto control while stripping agency and consent away from his victims. It could be done better but I prefer that MW is subtle about rape and you can still pretend it's not there if you want. It's a lot better than stories that try to be about how rape is bad but they linger on the rape in explicit detail.
>>3931835>baby fication by tiktok and tumblr makes him way too not serious and accountable as characterI'll take "fictional adult who happens to be silly gets horribly infantalized by the fandom"" for the 4957th time please.God forbid grown men express happiness and positivity, it must mean they're a literal child.I hope these people aren't that fucking weird towards their real life peers with ADHD or whatnot.
>>3931870I hope nugget Curly becomes Wrong Organs's unofficial mascot and makes random cameos in their future games
Anyone got art of Jimmy ryona? You can link it if it's too explicit.I hate Jimmy but I really like him as a character, which is why I think he deserves correction.
Pretty sure Curly immediately fucking died of hypothermia in that cryo-pod. He had no god damn skin.
>>3931947realistically Curly wouldn't even survive a day after the crash. Like it's so fucked up. Just pure pain shock would make him die, not considering the no skin, getting burned, open wounds, no limbs, etc etc.Maybe there's an au or interpretation that Jimmy just delusional, seeing Curly. While actually he's long tine dead and gone, and Jimmy just dragging corpse in ship
Also, is there fanfic or something like that, thoughts and exploration about when Curly got injured? like more in detailI might have a theory and headcanon that, While Curly was trying to save everyone and avoiding asteroid in cockpit, Jimmy locked him. It makes situation so much worse, as if Curly actually had a chance to get saved or at least not turn into nugget. But Jimmy wouldn't let him to, hoping captain would die to take his place
