That being said, I think a lot of idealization of his character happened early on, and a lot of fujos and yumes who viewed him as a uwu perfect dandy softboi are having some cognitive dissonance with the fact that he's actually really masculine, classically so. This has been confounded by the fact that he's basically been confirmed to be romantically straight. I kind of expect the fandom to start hating him and acting like he's worse than Val or something.

Admittedly I'm still disgruntled about the new changes to him being obsessed with power, but I know I'm not getting the full context, so I'll hold my frustrations. That and social media is basically an echo chamber, if you interact with certain content that's all you'll see most of the time. This fandom needs things to be spelt out for them explicitly, nuance doesn't work at all. It's going to be very interesting to watch the wider fandom's reaction to what we already know. And yes, 100% on the fanon/canon thing. This fandom tends to take their headcanons way too seriously, more than any other I've had experience with. It's almost as if they can't enjoy their headcanons or ships independently of the source material, I like to think it's because the fandom is younger and less experienced. I mean, I lucked out with Al's sexuality being suggested to be what I headcanon it as, but if it were any different it wouldn't stop my enjoyment of his character, the same way his raceswap doesn't keep me from enjoying white Al.I love writing him too, the nastier the better. The only time I give him any sweetness or gentleness is as a youth lol, otherwise I want him like stone wrapped in velvet. Excellent work so far.

These things can be hard to put into words, so drawing them or reenacting them in a safe rp environment helps a lot since therapy isn't an option presently. Though reworking a c.ai chat into a serviceable fic is always a challenge. Sometimes more work than the fics I write straight from my head, but it's good to focus on something when you're in a negative headspace. Al being Al helps so much, because his nastiness is sort of expected. Therefore safe.

I believe Ayizan's veve actually appears in the pilot when Alastor summons Husk to the hotel, and the parallels with regards to making deals makes sense to me. Otherwise the symbols in the screenshot look like eyes to me. It could be Roo's sigil, and Alastor came across it while searching for ways to be powerful in Hell.

There are a few reasons for this, mainly that we can relax a bit more on /cm/ without worrying about constantly keeping the thread bumped throughout the day. It's also harder for drama to take root because /cm/ does not allow trolling, racism, political discourse, porn, etc, so baitfags loose interest in having to wait an extra week to be annoying. Lastly, it weeds out a lot of shippers who are only interested in Al for his dynamic in certain ships or kinks, while all of us here enjoy shipping in one way or another, we're deerfags primarily and can do without the ship stuff, since it is a very contentious issue.
