But it's decently likely that mankind will eventually create real AI and use it to produce androids. Which, being nigh immortal, would likely end up replacing biological humans. The more speculative part is that I think the AIs would be in on the android thing. Squid spider mechanical abominations would probably be a more efficient vehicle of interaction with the physical world for an AI that can shape itself however it wants. But if they truly are intelligent, then they will also be irrational and driven by things like aesthetics, sentimentality, and a desire for companionship. The human form is pretty good anyway, so it wouldn't be a huge compromise. And it's not like having a main android body would preclude them from having a spider bot extension of themselves to do any manual labor. Without needing sexual dimorphism for reproduction or to be adult formed for strength and intelligence, they will settle on the aesthetic peak of humanity.
