Who are some of your favorites and what are their best comic runs? I only know of Mirage but that's just from exposure in X-Men/New Mutants and I'd like to know more about any others.

He shrugged off the Helper bots being potentially dangerous to 1% of children because it helped 99%. So when he realized Venturion's body was close at hand he did the most sensible thing for the good of science: attempt to commander the vessel to put his own brain in so he could continue his work. His own body was finally giving out, his attempts to shift his consciousness into the building's mainframe were not working out, and he knew he'd beaten death with Venturion, the math was just plain to him for what he should do.In retrospect this means the reason he abandoned that flying saucer experiment after it killed the pilot was some critical flaw in the design he couldn't rectify. To everyone on the outside it likely seemed as if he canceled the project out of respect to the pilot but I'm sure Jonas made no attempt to conceal his frustration with not being able to make it work.

It existing and having some part in that is probably what kept him from going full diabolical power hungry to the likes that Hunter would chose to deal with while he was Sphinx Commander.

His actions were dark at times but I don't think there are many cases where he acted with evil intent. With Bobby he impressed her with the science and in his mind he gave her a gift the same as you might a piece of jewelry. This got her into his bed and the exchange was mutually beneficial. When it displayed flaws he just shrugged as if to say "sorry the necklace I got you had some loose gems, but it still has some minor value and we both enjoyed our time together" He was indifferent and cold about it but he didn't laugh sinisterly and take pleasure in her misfortune, nor did he purposely give her faulty invisibility as a joke.As for the OSI thing that's him being self centered, he knew that the OSI would grant him greater opportunities and resources if he could give them things of value too and knowing she'd make a great covert agent was quick to offer her up. To his mind this was still all mutually beneficial transactions. He got what he wanted, the OSI got what they wanted, She got a great job and chance to help her country. To him this was a win/win/win. From his POV where was the evil in that?

His entire backstory works as a perfect lesson against what the X-Men eventually became— victims of something that is near-objectively bad turned into violent extremists that are just as bad, if not worse, than what originally hurt them. It’s a decent depiction of the cycle of abuse (and what happens if it isn’t broken) and generally works much better as a whole character concept than “Holocaust victim got mad and killed a lot of people but then he got better and feels bad now :(“Why people keep insisting he must be a good guy is beyond me. I’m guessing it’s either nostalgia/Claremontwank or some retarded mindset that makes them think any victim of discrimination cannot ever be evil no matter what they do.
