Is cheesecake back?
>>152170033It never really fucking left? Remember that shit years ago:>Milo Manara made an official Spider-Woman variant cover.>People complained about it sexualising her.>Cho made a Spider-Gwen cover sketch in response to the controversy.>Robbi Rodriguez complained it was sexualising a minor and his baby.>Meanwhile official Gwen covers always prominently featured stuff like her body/ass.Sexy art and cheesecake never really left, especially in variant covers.
>>152170100King
>>152170033It's back in a pretty meh low effort way, often where you can tell the artists are waaaaay more into sexualizing the dudes, and it's accompanied by a "there, are you finally happy now?" tone. Variant covers where an artist is allowed to go all-in on cheesecake are the best you're likely to get, even at smaller publishers most of the time.

>>152145657No, anon. Even back then, people were confused.>>152146094lemme guess, was it the "it's for you" episode that turned you off the showThat was one of the worst ones
>>152166040And the strangest part is season 1 version was a completely different character that didn't make sense. She was always going on about fashion and shoes and the it got to a point where you had to wonder if the writers knew what this character looked like. It was basically like having two Magnolia's. The only improvement from season 1 to 2 was Ursula. The humour was pretty good too i guess
>>152173130the weird part is how they swapped their namesfor some reason
>>152155204Reboot and Ed, Edd 'n Eddy and it's not really even a contest.
>>152173219It gets even weirder. Both of these girls' fathers become completely different characters as well. Like why keep the same designs for everyone except George if you're going to just change everyone's character? Like to put this in perspective it would be like if Susan and Mary Test turned black and became Gil's sisters but still experimented on Johnny Test.

Note: if you're good enough at the craft, nothing is preventing you from making the pilot yourself.>if we sell enough merchWhat's the alternative? Secluding yourself to a paid-for streaming service? After the Cartoon Hangover and Rooster Teeth fiascos? YouTube's monetization policies have been a cryptic mess for almost a decade, and pretty much no other user-uploaded-video service HAS monetization, except in the "paywalled by the uploader" sense or the "you got a fuck-you-money contract from the guy who owns the place" sense. You can do that first one on YouTube, of course (start YouTube Memberships, make some videos "Members only"), but no one wants to pay to watch animation on YouTube unless they already REALLY like the creator. And at that point, why not just make some merch? At least a nerdy art ho wearing your logo on a T-shirt gets the word out, and you're not ham-stringing your discoverability.

Something's up with the show BESIDES the schizophrenic elephant in the room I shan't talk about. Charlie seems to be a newcomer in her own setting - she had to be introduced to Cannibal Town and Rosie - who is super duper powerful - by Alasator.Yes I know we can just call it shitty writing but hmm. Consider my almonds(all two of them) activated. This could get bonkers. Shit, there might be more clues but that means having to ACTUALLY WATCH THE SHOW instead of JUST THE SONGS arrrgh
>>152169860You didn't BEFORE?! Fuckin' heathen...
>>152171232Hot
>>152171238>>152171494The writers are just totally avoiding the complications that would naturally result from Vaggie's past, because it would reveal the whole relationship is built on a shaky foundation. That would be interesting from a writing standpoint, but the two are supposed to be the "always supportive and wholesome" model lesbian couple, which takes priority over anything that would disrupt that, even if it's infinitely more interesting. No one in-universe cares about Vaggie's past because the writers themselves don't care. Vaggie is the "girlfriend" character and the details of her past are mostly just seasoning, outside of quickly remedied dramabait.
>>152171817>charlie's a shit because her only frame of reference for 'good' is superficial nicetiesGenuinely a better idea than anything the writers have come up with. Watch as they insist Charlie's a hero because neglecting people she's 'helping' is always framed as a joke.
>>152157032Charlie would be much more popular if she was op to begin with and had biblical power ceiling like her father and potentially her grandfather.

I know people like to clown on Verbalase for this, but I've got to give him credit for actually spending a reasonable amount of money on his commission as opposed to saying he'd pay the animator(s) in exposure.

>>152165318The price tag coupled with the content. A lot of people also assume it's meant to be pornographic so they judge how much of his money's worth he got based on that alone, saying he should have gotten something more explicit with the money. I believe him when he says it was meant for public release. It's far too tame and far too expensive to just be a file in his spank bank. People rightfully think it doesn't make sense to pay that much for porn that tame, but the alternative that actually makes sense, that it was never meant to be porn and was at some point meant to be monetized, isn't as entertaining, so they stuck with the porn story because it not making sense only makes it funnier. At the end of the day, though, it boils down to an expensive, cringy video. The timing also helped, being released around the Hazbin premiere.

So who was "Olivia Jaimes," the pseudonymous webcomics artist who revitalized Nancy from 2018–2025? Got any inside scoops or good theories? Some people must know by now
>>152169131says you
>>152169131So is she
>>152170836who? Nancy or Caroline Cash?
Maybe it's because I've been a hermit for quite a few years but seeing a Nancy thread on here is quite the welcome surprisePersonally I'm thinking it might be an artist who might have expertise on different fields (i.e. those webcomic cat artists) because I recall Jaimes drawing a squirrel with a level of ostensibly simple detail that I immediately knew whoever made it was at least one of those "doggo" artists trying to mask their styleNot the first time there's been a mystery artist who smurfed and then fucked off. There's also MisterDavey / MisterDavie, who I'm still not sure who he actually was(by the way am I just retarded or did the captchas get much worse while I was away? The four shapes one doesn't seem to work half of the time)

I'll start off. I actually like Ultimate FF. And I prefer the dynamic to the mainline book. I recognise that the stories themselves aren't better, but I think the core setup of a bunch of young adult supergeniuses with superpowers going on weird science adventures works for me far more than the kitschy sitcom family setup of the mainline F4. Especially with things like Franklin muddying the waters. Ultimate FF made everyone an expert in some field and had this feeling of basically being a modernised Star Trek starring people with superpowers. Again, the stories themselves cannot measure up to the classic main FF runs, but as a basis, the concept itself, I vastly prefer it. There was more excitement. They were younger, hotter, cooler. I could easily buy them as celebs. They were young enough to be unpredictable, but old enough to not be annoying teen geniuses. The book was essentially a cross between Star Trek, X-Files and dunno, something like Stargate. There was a playful element to it that you just can't have when you're dealing with a middle aged family. So yeah. I actually like Ultimate FF and think with some reworking the core concept works better than the mainline version. That's my extremely /co/ntroversial take. And Hell, I like Doom being a descendant of Dracula more than him being some random gyppo. The goat legs and mutation suck, but the backstory was a great update. I don't know, I think generally UltFF had all the right ingredients, but fucked up in the actual execution.
>>152170763Is that Galactus also responsible for giving the Fantastic Four their powers?
>>152170894It's been a hot while since I read it but I think so. Pretty much everything from Atlantis to the Moleoids and Inhumans had some connection to the Big G.
>>152170943Yeah something like that since Reed's ship was trying to make contact with the Silver Surfer right before the accident that gave them their powers. Reed figured out that the same signal he was receiving in space was the same symbol Mole Man, the Skrulls and Inhumans used to worship Galactus as a god or something like that.
