Gone.>"as soon as they possibly could"Citadel went on since the first season for multiple seasons before it got destroyed and even as recent as last season they made a Citadel-centric story about it's remains.Rick Prime story was spread out and hyped up throughout multiple seasons.Evil Morty was last seen fucking off with Rick Prime's schematics last we saw him, even saying "you are a little different though Rick, maybe I can use that someday". So it's super obvious they have plans on bringing him back up. They said they want to keep this show going forever so they're already setting up Evil Morty as some "break in case of emergency lore episode" thing for the future.

Now that we officially have the first revival season completely out:My opinion overall is that this wasn't necessary, it doesn't feel like it's done anything to justify bringing it back when it already ended on a good note. There's some episodes here and there I thought were enjoyable enough but it felt more miss than hit for me.It somehow feels like the show never really went off the air and the new season feels like a tired show kinda going through the motions.
