Wally started up his last semester of college and was paired up with Adeela, an Iraqi immigrant, in a partnership that started awkwardly but was eventually smoothed over. He also learned that Rana had reembraced Islam and intended to become a teacher and go back to Afghanistan so she could educate girls there.

I don’t remember much, other than that it was set in a city, took place in the late ’90s or early 2000s, had heroes and villains, and one of the villains was a punk/goth guy who could do parkour and ate bugs like they were snacks.
