Some people believe they had the entire roadmap to Endgame from the get-go, but when you delve into the production of the films, a lot of it was constantly being changed in reaction to audience reception and behind the scenes development. Main difference was, they didn't have a gazillion projects in the works all at once, and the smaller workload gave them the opportunity of a far tighter and smoother production so that they could accomodate their pieces.A lot of things contributed to the current state of the MCU, but the deathblow that was D+ and it's demand for ever more content cannot be underestimated.
