I prefer the first part, seeing how a family and their friends have to find ways to survive in a world where death literally falls from the sky and, to make matters worse, the other survivors fight over scarce resources. I appreciate that there aren't any stupid characters who endanger everyone else; everyone (except the two children) is a responsible adult who thinks before acting, but even so, every action carries an unavoidable mortal risk.The charm of the story disappears in the second part. Furthermore, the mystery vanishes completely. Oh, wow, it's an alien invasion! Oh, look, those are the aliens! Shoot them! Bang, bang, bang! Boom! Time travel!I wish the entire first season of the Netflix series had focused on Juan Salvo, his family, and friends' struggle for survival in the world of the deadly snowstorm. It should have maintained the 'spirit' of the first two episodes. The revelation of the alien invasion could have been left for the season finale, as a cliffhanger.
