The plot if you can even call it that is trash too. I can't even mention the action because there wasn't any. Unless you count finn and fionna standing in place lightly tapping some grandfather clock wires with swords occasionally, or violent crying about your feelings. Why was Simon even there either? Half the cast are just stick figures made to stand around and act like passive interchangeable quip spewers. It really is a terribly put-together plot, it's just unqualified women making the badly drawn dollies all mingle around and mumble nonsense with no grand point or progression.

Compared to back then Things became too streamlined and optimized that people didnt need to try as hard. Cell animation was laborious and tedious yet had a lot of charm that couldn't be authentically replicated with digital tools.Also money.
Made animation too convenient with the existence of computers.And the execs keeping creatives on too much of a tight leash

So their cartoon ends up being more sanitized since they're not willing to work with them, and then they later put all the blame on the media regulators for not being able to tell the gags or story they wanted to.
