Just finished this? What did I think? Did it really take 20 years to finish? What was with all the references to John Carter stuff like Thoats?
>>152167389It was kino. Not sure why it took so long. The "new stuff" isn't as strong as the early stuff I guess. Caza has a weird way of drawing people
>>152167389It was a helluva post-apocalyptic trip. EVERYBODY got screwed.
y'kmow other than stuff like peanuts and calvin and hobbes (or whatever gets adapted into animation these days), i say newspaper strips are the most underappreciated form o' cartoons, wouldn't ya say
>>152159796I know I'm not alone here.
>>152165830Batiuk stopped drawing Funky Winkerbean in 1994 when Chuck Ayers took over the art. He still inked it up until the end though. He never drew any of the spinoffs. John Darling was drawn by first Tom Armstrong, who eventually left to start the strip Marvin, and then Gerry Shamway. Crankshaft was always drawn by Ayers.Ayers left Funky and Crakshaft in 2017 (well, 2016 because Batiuk worked on a year long buffer) with Rick Burchett taking over art for Funky and Dan Davis taking over art for Crankshaft, both of them being lower tier comic artists who did work mainly on the animated tie-ins (Burchett did a lot of Superman Adventures, Davis had done stuff for Brave and the Bold). Ayers came back to Funky around a year and a half later and stayed with until the end and retired but Davis has been drawing Crankshaft for close to a decade.

>>152167743>(heck, i even made a drawthread request of her just now)Aren't you an artist? Why don't you do more art of characters that aren't Pepper Ann?
So who was "Olivia Jaimes," the pseudonymous webcomics artist who revitalized Nancy from 2018–2025? Got any inside scoops or good theories? Some people must know by now
>>152166877>>152166877> if she'd choose something like the grueling factory pace of a daily newspaper comic.Eh I doubt it >>152166957Yeah that’s probably true. I wouldn’t mind a little lulu revival though
>>152162018What if i told you it was Tatsuki Fujimoto

>>152162018Nancy thread?
>>152166877She was my theory for it. Though some of it is just wishful thinking.Brosh was great though. Her second book was so depressed though it was hard to get through at times. She was a good story teller though. Just go read her old blogs, she's good at it.

>>152151981The 90s live action film used too pretty of a actress to play her. She's supposed to be old & ugly.
>>152166441Morticia Addams with a fur coat
>>152167674No, I think she's pretty much perfect casting.I think Emma Stone was decent casting for Cruella too, FWIW. I just think they botched her character in that movie.

Aside from Moebius, which other comic book artists have gotten art gigs in movies?
>>152162983He's not talking about the David Lynch one. He's talking about the Jodorowsky Dune that was in development during the 1970s that never got made

>>152164495Who knows, maybe if they still have an online presence you can ask why. Could be people were requesting smut and it wasn't something he ever wanted to do
>>152164633I'm guessing it has something to do with the brap art
