Dude it feels like they had 7 writers on the script and no one was allowed to talk to each other.
>>151924736>>151924863>>151925348>>151932170I heard that it was actually supposed to be a "crossover" first, actually just a normal hero/supervillain cartoon, but they HAD to add scooby and the gang for WB to greenlight it.
>>151924736God, this was so fucking bad. How hard is it to just make an hour and a half long Scooby Doo episode? Everyone involved in this should be blacklisted forever. Hollywood writer is an unjustifiable existence.
>>151924863It's Warner, rushing shit is what they do.
>>151925348They did kinda seem to want to try and include a mystery, despite there being zero room in the story to do so.That said, it's not the first Scooby Doo movie to fall victim of a "wtf does this have to do with Scooby" story. Reluctant Werewolf with no mystery, Scrappy, real monsters, Googie (who was hot so gets a pass) and it being a Wacky Races rip off.
The thing is I feel like the concept of "Mystery Inc goes after other HB villains in a big crossover" would work better in an episodic format ala Scooby Doo Movies, even if it might be hard to adhere to the formula, but as a movie you run into the problem of throwing too many eggs into a basket with no solid payoff. Like why is Captain Caveman here? What does Blue Falcon really add? Hell even Dick Dastardly is an odd first pick.
Comfy snowy and Christmasy.

nothing of pendlenton ward is left, after the jewization of rebecca sugar, they made on of the best cartoons of our century into an tumblr faggot slop
>>151932106No, what are you talking about? I didnt mention sugar at all
>>151932056Nah you don't have be a /pol/fag to point out poor tumblr-tier writing, Fionna is essentially everything wrong with female characters nowadays by how easily forgiven she was in the end, and HW's story is toondisconnected with her.I also hated how HW power creep'd everyone else in the cast just because her green magic is very conveniently linked to the multiverse and making her effectively a Godness with barely any foreshadowing before this season, I was already fed up with AT's lore when they introduced the concept of the multiverse but now how are you have meaningful stakes with it and HW being too OP unless it's some end of the multiverse or something?I honestly see this shit falling after this season since Finn shiptards already got what they wanted, and the only things left is more bubbline and C-tier characters like Prismo or Flame Princess
>>151931087I mean, what do you expect them to do? There's really nothing else interesting about Adventure Time left to explore.
>>151932239Ah. I thought you were mentioning Bubbline in reference to the op referring to Sugar.
>>151931087It was tumblr faggot slop from day 1.Also it will never get old, how /co/mrades will pretend they did not have Tumblr accounts to look at all the porn.
>Ray Fisher accuses Walter Hamada and Geoff Johns of racism.>WB deflects by announcing Hamada and Johns will produce a live-action Frosty the Snowman film with Jason Momoa set to voice Frosty.>This project never existed and they solely announced it to show that Momoa, another Justice League actor of color, had no problem with Johns and Hamada.>Momoa played along by keeping quiet and neither confirming nor denying his involvement.>Johns and Hamada are cleared by internal investigations.>Johns quits the movie industry and goes back to writing comics.>Hamada quits after David Zaslav scraps several of his DC projects.>Momoa admits the Frosty movie was never real and tried to make something out of it, but nobody cared.>To this day it is unknown why a fake Frosty the Snowman live-action movie was WB's go-to to save face.Still one of the funniest things to come out of the Snyder Cut debacle.

>Anons haven't heard of double-paned windows or ACGrim. What do you think those things at the foot of his bed are for? Clearly AC vents. Only thing Arnold has to worry about his hail, which would be pretty rare at large enough sizes to damage his windows in the PNW where the show takes place.
Anyone else completely dislike Peter Parker as a character? I grew up with Spider-Man everywhere, but by some quirk of fate I got into Miguel at the same time (I came across a random toy). So while I grew up and more and more saw Parker as an immature manchild, I had another Spider-Man to truly enjoy. And to me, Parker's just not Spider-Man in any way. I'm also an unironic Superiorfag and I'll fight anyone at any time over it. Kaine's also the best clone. It's completely stupid to me to have all this great setup and end up with basically a soap opera starring a fag. And it's also because of that that I genuinely think JMS' mythos was a great addition. It just would've worked better without Fagger Parker as the MC. Spider-Man is a great concept and 11/10 suit/aesthetic stuck on one of the stupidest and faggiest MCs of all time.
>>151932418It needs to make Paul the new Spider-Man. People love him already and would embrace him wholeheartedly and Aunt May would take him over Peter in a second. She absolutely loves him like a son that she never had
>>151932418>I'm also an unironic SuperiorfagThat explains a lot.
>Already released>Not actual discussion within the cartoon youtubers and twitterWhat happen? i thought people liked Sugar, Ward, McHale and Jones-Quartey
>>151930711I would understand this if cartoons had pretty good writing but it's just so... unimpressive. Like it's not particularly bad but if the writing in most cartoons were used in any other medium it would be written of as mediocre to bad writing. Honestly it's the character design that attracts people to cartoons most of the time.
>>151928022>SugarMeh. Decent boarder and idea person but her shtick is long past worn out. I'm tired of gay little ukelele songs, learn a real fucking instrument.>PenCrazy weirdo that lucked out hard, zero talent, Midnight Gospel was offensive tripe.>McHaleHe's ok>JQLove him but this seems pretty unrelated to his projects There is no reason I would think this is worth watching.
>>151931903Most on the people into cartoons also don't have much experience with other mediums outside of fanfiction and fanfiction derived content, and so their standards for a good story are very uninspired and limited. When all you have experienced is a dull grey world, even the slightest bit of dogshit brown can be novel and exciting. But you do have a point about character designs. One of the most in my opinion insidious but effective exploits modern cartoons do is give the audience an appealing character design and enough of a character and motivation before giving nothing for months to let said audience do all the heavy lifting in regards to forming attachment by having them write their own version of the via headcanon.People are creative, but using your fanbases creativity as a crutch for ones lack of proper release pacing or work ethic rubs me the wrong way.
>>151928022>i thought people liked Sugar, Ward, McHale and Jones-QuarteyMost people here recognize them for being (at least partially) responsible for the prevalence of the worst trends in the animation industry from the 10s on.In any case, it feels like only McHale took the project seriously. Ward was decent setup, but felt phoned in an. Sugar and Quartey's short was entirely masturbatory navelgazing about her career. McHale managed to tell an entire story on his own and cap everything off in a satisfying manner. It was an interesting experiment, but it was still very much an experiment.>>151932031>One of the most in my opinion insidious but effective exploits modern cartoons do is give the audience an appealing character design and enough of a character and motivation before giving nothing for months to let said audience do all the heavy lifting in regards to forming attachment by having them write their own version of the via headcanon. That's more of an issue with indie animation than the medium as a whole, but you're absolutely right.
