I wish there were more balance between corruption and correction stories. I like both, but there's not enough correction out there.

I'm pretty sure that's Sparx, not Livewire. It may be from Superboy and the Ravers, but I'm not sure.

Eh, I'm more into the idea of a version of Superman that kind of stumbles into making a harem out of his rehabilitated villainesses.

Absolute Bane is better written/characterized than mainline Bane. Hell the lore behind his mask is even better. And Kelly Thompson's Wonder Woman is more in character/a better written book than Tom King's mainline book.

So should Absolute always be an ongoing mirror series to the mainline, or should it be retired eventually and tidbits that worked serve as a learning experience for their respective books?

>Absolute Bane is better written/characterized than mainline Bane
No, nothing comes close to Bane's original run as a character. His original run showed him as self-actualized force whose biggest strength was his planning and getting into the mind of Batman. Absolute is just brawn with pretentious warrior philosophy acting as a mook for Joker, that's it. We are told he is cunning but we are not shown it at all. Instead we get wide shots of him being a giant or him slapping the shit out of Batman while waxing and waning about le deep diatribes without any actual substance. The original run spends most of the issues showing Bane learn about Gotham, take out the main power players, learn about Batman's fighting style, plan the Arkham breakout, smuggle weapons, tire out Batman while beating the shit out of heavy hitters like Croc to show to the reader he can crumple other supervillains as well as crime families before breaking Batman himself. People seem to forget that Bane breaking Batman was only so powerfull due to the build up leading to it. Bane says he will break the Batman, Bane says he will destroy his life's work, and he actually does it and shows it to the reader overtime.

Absolute is style with no substance. It pretends to have a wider message but it doesn't, it is literally just "SOCIETY!" the run.

>>150244973
There should always be an ongoing mirror universe or unvierses for writers to play with. Maybe with both Ultimate and Absolute topping the chart this is finally the decade the big two learn that.
But it should be shaken up every so often, as >>150247435 said, it lasting forever alongside the main continuity becomes pointless. But once one is ended another should be introduced not too long after. This would not only keep sales high, it would also clean up the main continuity. One of the other banes of the big two (and DC is a worse offender) is that the biggest characters are in as many books as the market can sustain, regardless of how much the writers of these separate books care to compare notes and continuity. Bleeding some of the demand out to an AU fixes the mess that this tends to make.

The consensus is that Clark being Superboy before Superman fits if it's a universe where superheroes are an estabilished concept that have been a thing by years, so Clark isn't the first superhero and being called Superboy is acceptable because you can see it as a thing that can happen in world like this.
But is it that simple?

Smallville was supposed to be a rural town in the midwest, only an hour or two from the futurist city Cleveland could become in Metropolis, such that when the Kents died Superboy as Clark just look a bus ride into the city and found a job as a reporter with literally no prior education (those were the days) and only a sack on his back.

The transplanting of Metropolis and Smallville from that position has both pros and cons respectively. If you want Metropolis to be close to Gotham for World’s Finest team ups you need an East Coast Metropolis, but having Metropolis so far away from Smallville kind of breaks the suspension of disbelief as there wouldn’t be that many people moving from Smallville to Metropolis often, and hence Clark moving there and Superman showing up simultaneously strains the secret identity aspect.

I watched about half of unreleased season 2. 12 episodes again, it seems its a new arc every 3 episodes but this time it's focused on a specific turtle which I personally enjoy. Written a lot better too. Yes they do have the turtles tell each story but I think it's done better than in season 1. From what I've heard, season 1 wasn't even going to have that format but Seth hates the show (he apparently isn't involved with the writing of the show) and doesn't want the show to tie into the movie at all, so they had to find a way to make the show feel separate from the movie very late into production. If that answers why the show is written the way it is.

I guess the comics are going to be hit with this too, even though those have some people from the movies working on them.
>>
>>150245529
Yeah Seth only wants the movie, his contract with Paramount makes him do all the other projects but he doesn't want any of those so the show and comics are just bastard children basically.
>>
Nothing is worse than IDW. They can't even do story planning well. The main books storyline was also delayed to connect with the storylines of mini-comics. Jason Aaron probably wasn't "allowed" to progress the plot so he had to create Hale who is like a "filler" villain and just had him control the Foot for this short run.

well, they also showed Watership Down on TV the same way. The movie, not the kiddy series.
>>
>>150252068
Random thought: if you had to make a spectrum, with Felidae being adult, and Watership Down being for older children/younger teenagers, what would you put at the bottom? Somewhat edgy, but still for (almost) all ages.
>>
>>150252096
I guess Watership down is easier to understand, kids will probably have more problems understanding Pascals schemes to breed supercats than they would have to understand Woundwort.
(Who was also far less delusional by the way, he hated humans and went out of a normal rabbits way to avoid them, but he would never have cooked up a plan to wage war against them like Pascal did, he still was realist enough to know that would never work.)

When American Dad moved to TBS I can see the suits saying this
>Make it more like Rick & Morty
Which is why you no longer have grounded CIA gadgets every dozen episodes, but nearly every episode has the CIA just have a thing to do a thing. They even made the scientists there have way more screentime and episodes. You also have really random non sequitur shit like little Tuttels appearing around Stan and barking. Like there was no need for that OTT stuff. AD was relatively 'grounded' it didn't have Family Guy tier randomness like that in it before TBS. Additionally they would do episodes for no reason, like the end of the world episode and it's just left... Only for a later season episode to go
>Oh yeah all those episodes where shit wasn't cleared up or explained? Erm, yeah those were other realities of the Smiths haha also you're a NERD for reading the next that appears on the screen by pausing it omg get a life
So if everything is handwaved with
>It's another reality, bro
Just like Rick and Morty, then it loses some interest. That's not to mention the constant 'Homer gets an iPad' type thing where they repeat it. For example, the episode where Francine wants a garden. But she already had a garden. Or the episode where Francine wants to open a restaurant so wants to grow vegetables, but she already grew vegetables in the Camp Refuge episode. Shit like that. Just
>AH forget it happened and if anybody asks it's ANOTHER REALITY HAHAHAHA
There is a reason Terry's VA left. The show just became pointless shotgun wall shit. Plus all the random fetish stuff thrown in.

1. Two of the male leads come off as way too Human looking as if it needed to be made obvious to the audience that later on it's revealed that they are half-breed aliens. 2. The protags of this show should have been a four-band team instead of two because as others have stated Shrike & Beebs can't carry this show on their own. 3. Too many characters that are furry looking and less alien as well. 4. Secondary and Minor characters act too juvenile at times that they might as well be 10-14yr olds and the biggest example of this is Shrike, Tyneen, Ricket and Jaw Bone. 5. The show needs to balance having a comedic but also dark tone to it's setting as it often leans towards it's comedic side while whimsily inserting dark stuff into it every now and then.
>>
>>150235076
