>>151736138>any of an order (Decapoda) of crustaceans (such as shrimp, lobsters, and crabs) with five pairs of thoracic appendages one or more of which are modified into pincers, with stalked eyes, and with the head and thorax fused into a cephalothorax and covered by a carapace

Why do cartoons featuring dogs as the main characters seem to be a perennial occurrence? What is their appeal?

It's so funny how hard they are hiding the voice actors identity because its obviously a white chick voicing a black character. Can't have that in 2026 lol

I have an idea. The 17 issue Bullion run ended with the code shattered and each piece poised to cause problems in the future, leaving the door open to future writers in the Bullion era. No one has really taken me up on that yet, so...What if each piece manifested in different ways media, namely comics, were censored during the 60s/70s? I'm not sure how to represent that without doing research into the subject. But what if, in one of these localized censored areas, the code was making things "better" for people and the heroes would be seen as the bad guys for wanting to remove it? I know this plot must've been done in some capacity before, but I can't come up with any specific examples of people willingly giving up a portion of their personal autonomy in exchange for stability. Like a town trapped in the 50s where all the old folks and working adults are just having a gay old time because everything is exactly how it should be to them, but all of the kids and young adults are miserable and can't explain to their parents why this is, or even explain to themselves why this is, just a profound feeling of wrongness.Maybe that's sort of like the early episodes of Mystery Inc.?
>>151736450The shattered pieces of the Code reform into the Cosmic Censure Authority, the behind-the-scenes antagonists of the Golden Guardian era. They didn't get much further in development than that other than taking cues from the Fourth World.
>>151736675That's one interpretation, but as you say there's no real development on that front. Also, not all code fragments are working together, the Ebony Editor being the prime example of this. The 70s Golden Guardian era is underdeveloped in general since one-off plots in the 50s are usually more fun to write. The plot I suggest could easily take place in either Bullion or Guardian, but I think sending Bullion to a 50s Silent Hill/Higurashi is more interesting than sending Guardian since Bullion has less power to work with in exposing the code fragment pulling the stings.Like if a local official facing pressure to keep things hunky-dory when he knew they weren't would lead him to making a deal with such a stagnant entity. You know crime had to go way up once the code was gone.
>>151736857>but I think sending Bullion to a 50s Silent Hill/Higurashi is more interesting than sending Guardian since Bullion has less power to work with in exposing the code fragment pulling the stings. The code fragments should sit out the rest of the Bullion era. You want to space out the big cosmic baddies else they become routine.
>>151736892The only other cosmic baddie I had in mind would be the 90s EDGE force, an entity that came from the same place as the code to take its throne, born from the very darkness the code tried to snuff out of humanity. Also, the code didn't officially die until 2011, how would that work? But anyway, I still think the idea of a creepy town could work even if it's not a code fragment, but then if not a fragment what could cause the mystery?

That's a horrible name for this team, any way you slice it and doesn't align with the naming convention of other DC teams. How would you rename them? I'm leaning on Shadow Court or something to that effect. What say you?
