I would probably have tried a Victorian voice next. 20th century idiom didn't seem appropriate for the setting. The translator usually can take their cues from the art, the text, or the tradition (epic Norse tale). I was reading the French version, but I had no confidence that the French was an appropriate translation from the original Swedish. I don't know a bit of Swedish. This comic is available in a bunch of languages, even Portuguese, but not English. You have to wonder who owns the English rights. Are they sitting on the English version? If they are they deserve to have a fan version come out first and teach them a lesson about corporate greed.

Mind you this is after he monologues to Venom about how he's trying to move on and grow past the hurt.The arc is just poorly written and a reminder of why Wells has primarily been a fill in writer. Like, c'mon. Felicia and Peter breaking up because they're too good and stable? That's all they ever wanted to be!A better writer would've used the moment where Felicia said she wanted a real relationship and not a project to tell him that its clear they're both just going through the motions of being in a relationship which was why everything was good on the surface. That he needs to finally let go and move on because she's tired of being his rebound girl and deserves both, that they both do. Nevermind that it genuinely comes off as self-insert shit when you find out he claimed his wife was seeing another man that was pushing for the divorce.
