He used to experiment with different art styles and animation. His humor had a certain edge to it. I think his art style greatly downgraded. He draw the same wholesome chungus scenario every days with once in a blue moon cool concept every few weeks.
This is what he post nowadays. Scribble art style and humor on par with 50s comic strips.
Anyway, posts your favorite moringmark comic, from angsty to hilarious.
>>152125934I agree
Aside from Moebius, which other comic book artists have gotten art gigs in movies?
>>152123059A lot of the creators Adventure Time made big were from the indie comics scene than Penn liked and bored, bypassing typical routes to getting on a network show. Which is funny because /co/ blames them for Calarts style or whatever when it’s the opposite.
>>152119517>>152122422I never watched it but I remember a documentary about Mignola being made a couple of years ago and in the trailer I noticed Sugar was one of the people being interviewed in it. Seems likely she's a Hellboy fan

For a time, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi was Cartoon Network's biggest hit, being the next Powerpuff Girls and Dexter's Lab in terms of how much of a craze it was, yet despite this, the craze stopped less than 2 years later. Just months after the Macy's Thanksgiving Day float, the two DVDs coming out, a toyline being released, and having a GBA game, the show was canned with 5 episodes unaired in the states. The last thing ever made for the show were costumes which were released in October 2006, but were being made months prior and by the time those were released, Cartoon Network stopped airing it periodI'd compare it to how CatDog was a craze with how it was everywhere back then along with Rugrats and yet, despite that, CatDog stopped at just 68 episodes, but atleast CatDog reran on Nick til like 2005, while Puffy was dropped less than 2 years after it came out
>>152123792AND GAY MEN!
>>152125709Oh, and how did Invader Zim not even get to the 52 episode minimum either? That show was huge back in the day. It had a huge fanbase and yet, it had half of the minimum amount for syndication. It never got to 52/65/78 episodes
>>152122308To my knowledge they were pretty big, sort of "always on the scene but never totally dominated it" level of popularity. This discussion needs to be framed to one thing. This was pre AKB48, that is important. Idols were just celebrities back then compared to the almost cultish followings they have now, but here's the thinghttps://youtu.be/1md3qCyBWvo?si=rqGxW0m1RSlJ71XbThis is a 30 something revival take on a cover of a western anniversary song done by a Japanese idol who was basically pulled from semi-retirement to do it.And it was a fucking hit even with younger Japanese crowds at the timeIt is super easy to fuck up stardom in Japan but they will gladly keep you around as you age. It's one of their most weirdly consistent traits for people, IPs, technologies, whatever. They refuse to let things die. They were non-ceremonially wearing kimono and geta into the 70s and 80s.So I wouldn't be surprised if those two are just living comfy lives on royalties and popping up when they feel like saying "hey" these days.
>>152125800Actually I take it back. I forgot they didn't keep traditional animation methods alive for the switch to digital in the late 90s. Hideaki Anno even said it was a bitch just getting the equipment for a scene in Rebirth of Evangelion which is insane when you remember these are the people who can preserve samurai swords for over half a millennia and went out of their way to preserve all the technological antiques from the meiji era
I remember thinking the show decent but never one of my favorites. I don’t remember any of my friends ever talking about it, so I never thought it was one of the most popular cartoons. Maybe that’s because me and my friends were guys and didn’t want admit to watching a girly show.
Batman is meant to be a gritty noir detective and a dark, shadowy creature of the night, instilling fear into superstitious and cowardly criminals. NOTHING ABOUT HIM IS SUPPOSED TO BE "FUN", BOOMTARDS. You want "Fun Batman"? That's what Green Arrow is for.
