Volume 5 Mike was pretty upbeat. It's weird, because end-of-volume-4 era Mike was feeling super guilty, regretful, and resentful over how things turned out with Lucy, but then in volume 5 he's making jokes and is everybody's best friend again. Pic related is Mike's last appearance in volume 4, and his first appearance in volume 5.

I also think you're forgetting how Mike was in volume 3-4. He wasn't sarcastic or cutting, he was directly aggressive. December had him yell "FINE, get it over with!" in the middle of class like a weirdo, and later telling Lucy he hated her with tears in his eyes.

Agreed, part of what makes me sympathetic to Mike is that he basically never starts the shit. December and the headdesk were a reaction to years of getting shoved around, Eternal Flame was a reaction to Sandy cheating (and super contrived), shoving Gus was a reaction to him trying to drop a nuclear bomb on his social life for no reason. As to the earlier volumes, I didn't forget. Those are the two stand out examples of agression. Outside of those exceptions to the rule, Mike's displeasure with Lucy was expressed as I said.

Almost all of the jokes Zach inserted into the show were either bits he tried out on Oneyplays first, or just lifted from the other Oneyplays guys. Not sure why Zach didn't just hire all them on as creative consultants, or reach out to more Newgrounds guys. Hell, I'm sure even Marc M could've recommended some guys, he's pretty well connected

In the comic Nolan wasn't as malicious towards humans when he fought Mark it was all just collateral damage. In the show he is actively trying to kill as many people as possible so it makes sense he isn't just instantly forgiven.

I haven't read the absolute universe fully yet, just kinda dipping in and out but I might go and read Absolute Wonder Woman since I haven't heard much beyond just seeing her design and her horse. But her doing more Kratos type stuff might be interesting.
Here's hoping she gets a design that is more like her classic underroos design. Damn. I don't need it right away though. They can stick with the design they have for quite a while, just moreso I would like to see what it would look like. I also like the DC Universe Online WW with the braided pony tail. Kinda wish that stuck around in some stuff. Maybe a WW adjacent could use that.
