Am I the only one who thinks that reducing Brainiac to a "now I have the powerz to punch you really HARD Superman" villain is kinda shit?Did Superman not have ENOUGH villains who punch him harder than he's ever been punched? What unimaginative drek.Also, all that's missing from this issue is Krypto, Luthor's evil genius cat, whatever Brainiac's superpet is, and Lobo's favorite space-dolphin.I don't follow Superman comics, and haven't for ages, but this is just....sad and silly.

It's like how the X-Men can be all passive aggressive and haughty towards villains when Wolverine has a quadruple figure body count and killed dozens of his own children that one time.

>>144237813It's pretty much Williamson's signature. His writing is pretty much about nostalgia and putting 'stuff' in the box for feel good moments. His plotting and characterization can be really shallow and boring.

First becoming a zealot for Doom and then becoming an ally to superman who understands the world needs him but ends up doing more harm than good in his attempts to help because he's still Lex.
