What comics are YOU reading, anon?
>>
>Supermutant Magic Academy, saw it was getting a show and the key art intrigued me. It’s actually pretty charming.
>New X-Men by Morrison, I’ve never been a huge X-Men fan so I ordered this to maybe get into them some more. I love Morrison’s Doom Patrol.

I came across some of my old Sonic comics from Archie the other day and I found a Sailor Moon homage story by none other than Dan Slott in one of the Super Specials.

TMNT. I'd read #1 yonks ago. But this is my first time reading past that. Not what I expected at all, way better than I thought it'd be and way way weirder than I thought it'd be, but in the best way. They really need to get their act together and put out TMNT Epic Collections that collect EVERYTHING in order.
>>
>>144303972
I dunno. I just finished a lot of Avengers and Cap stuff so I'm feeling a bit tired of capes at the moment.
>>
>>144303972
events completely destroyed me
I'm one of the few hardcore defenders of the Krakoa era but Fall of X gave us like 9 minis to follow and I fell off, I've got like 40+ issues of X-Men comics to read
to a lesser extent Blood Hunt did the same thing so I fell off on most of the Earth 616 books I was reading until I can find the time to read those series, the actual Blood Hunt event, and the relevant minis
I did however finally binge read the first 6 issues of ASM, caught up on Saga (hadn't read since the 2019 hiatus) and started reading the Ghost Machine books
>>
The Looney Tunes Greatest Hits from DC.
It's not as funny as the animated cartoon but I love the LT too much to not enjoy this.

Slowly burning through Sandman Omnibus Vol 1, Batman Long Halloween, and I just started Bone Rest: A World's End after seeing a few of its issues in a comic shop $1 box while on vacation and thinking it looked neat.
It's gudt. Life is gudt.
>>
>>144303972
I've been going through Tom Strong. Very enjoyable stuff, but I'm pretty sure I've reached the point where Alan Moore's left the book now.
I finished the first Micronauts Omnibus a little while ago as well. Fun enough stuff, but very Star Wars and very late 70s
>>
>>144303972
Right now I've started Gotham Central after finishing Demon Knights

I found a collection of Super Friends comics that I will be reading soon. I'm always on the lookout for those old Marvel Essential/DC Showcase books, even if it's for something I wouldn't normally be interested in.

Slott's earliest multiverse dabbling is Archie Sonic. He also did one of the minis for Nights into Dreams.

Had the itch to start re-reading Transmetropolitian again (get this every Election year). It really is one of the best comics I've ever read, not just a great cyberpunk journalism comic about how much a sink hole politics is, but just a great fucking comic in general

Also been on a bit of DC comics kick (Silver Age Flash, Aquaman from every possible era, and Dixon era Nightwing)
>>
>>144316261
Both to tell you the truth.
>>
>>144316543
I decided to mostly ignore its importance and just enjoy myself. Didn't work.

>>144314826
Finished it. It was just okay. The lettering sucked.

I'm catching up with IDW Sonic (45), am in the middle of New Teen Titans (vol. 2 19), and I read Simpsons Comics (5) and Peanuts (Jan 1951) periodically, whenever I'm bored and need a quick laugh. I'm also caught up with
>Canto
>Dick Tracy
>Fantastic Four
>G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero
>JSA
>Lawful
>Resident Alien
>Space Ghost
>Last Days of Lex Luthor
>Symbiote Spider-Man 2099

>William of Newbury

I could never get into comic TMNT cause of the artstyle.

I'd say Last Days of Lex Luthor too except i cant bring myself to call it an ongoing when they havent released a second issue in a full year, and the art while good is nowhere near good enough to justify this kind of delay
>>
>>144318639
Reading old ASM very sporadically though, trying to make it at least once a month

>>144307771
From this page i assume you're in the Dark Phoenix arc, and yes that arc falls flat on its face and people praise it underservedly, but Claremont just gets better from there
>>
>>144303972
I got Batman Black and White vol. 1 & 2 TPBs from the library. They decided there's TPBs for children and TPBs for adults at my library and these were in the kid's section with Superman For All Seasons and The Long Halloween.
>>
>>144318694
Really despite the Byrne and Jim Lee eras being by far the most famous, claremont's best output and the peak of the franchise is between both of those
>>
>>144303972
Working my way through the x-men chronologically (in terms of the Marvel universe, so comics written later that take place earlier are fair game) cause I hate myself I guess. Thankfully I just started the Claremont era so I've gotten out of the silver age.
>>
>>144307771
It gets a lot better after dark phoenix imo
>>
>>144318777
I just finished that not long ago except I started with Claremont (or more specifically, the Giant Size issue that forms the new team and sets up Claremonts run). It's definitely worth it in terms of the main books. Make sure to read Claremont's New Mutants run when you get to it bc its relatively important for Magneto's development. Make sure to read the Claremont minis, and the one Nightcrawler mini, theyre all good to great. If you're not autistic like me you can just skip X-factor and Simonson's New Mutants run, theyre mixed and will really slow down your progression
>>
>>144318856
Oh, and *definitely* read Excalibur, its incredible, it far outshines uncanny x-men once it begins
>>
>>144318856
Oh, i misread you comment, i just read in publication order. Doing an in-universe chronology read is really gay
>>
>>144318777

When it pops up in the reading list I'm using.

https://www.crushingkrisis.com/crushing-comics-guide-collecting-marvel-comic-books/x-men-reading-order-guide/x-men-reading-order-guide-era-02/

Don't know if there's a better one. I just wanted to read as much as I could since I've been bored lately. Also early Magneto being retarded in a really funny way saves a lot of the earlier stories
>>
>>144319059
You shouldnt be reading it, it sucks and shoehorns ideas claremont had later into parts of the story they dont belong in (like making Jean have the hots for Logan in the early team days rather than it being one-sided)
>>
>>144319102
>like making Jean have the hots for Logan in the early team days rather than it being one-sided
I read the exact issue you're talking about and while you're right, the SUPER retarded and jarring way they did it was funny as fuck. Jean's ass really went
>yeah I talked to this guy for ten seconds and his rugged masculinity was so strong that I just know I'd cheat on Scott, the love of my life, if I was around.
It was such a lmao moment.
>>
>>144303972
I'm not reading a comic right now, I'm posting a reply to this thread.
>>
I always come back to reading the Darth Vader (2015) series, 2017 was pretty good too but the ongoing 2020 needs a fucking stop already.
>>
>>144319457
2020 is ending in a few months.
I liked 2015 well enough but the art was fucking horrible. Entirely the colorist's fault. Loved 2017.
>>
>>144319698
A lot of 2015 is traced I believe, just look at the mp5 blaster.
>>
>>144318898
>Doing an in-universe chronology read is really gay
I'm not bothering to read the comics that don't really interest me. Like I didn't bother reading past issue 4 of The Champions cause it was really boring. Also on the verge of dropping Captain Britain but I know he gets some insane comics later on and I want to read the Moore run at some point regardless since I'm a Moore fan.
>>
>>144320042
Moore's Captain Britain is probably my favorite Marvel comic. I just started with Dave Thorpe's run and went from there.
>>
>>144318694
>>144318728
It kind of blows that it's taking Claremont so long to become a good writer. I've read his Wolverine mini and it's so much better than his legendary series of arcs with John Byrne.
Days of Future Past is a step up from what came before, but it's still not very good. There are good ideas, but the execution is clunky. For one, a lot of the narrated descriptions could have made for some terrific art. I feel that too many panels and words are wasted on catching the audience up on the plot and characters and their abilities.
The good thing is I'm learning where a lot of cape ideas were first tested.

That's fair, it's not my favourite thing about it either. But it fits the series perfectly and is kinetic af.

You're asking this now?
