>>144306799Nobody said that first thing. The comic is about a business selling a product, and not about the government.
>>144306885>>ignore what the government is doing>nobody said that>he said, ignoring what the government is doing

>>144304922>>144306772This is wrong, fail, and AIDS.From the outside, it's worse - there are people who think the US IS a fascist dictatorship, not just that 'they're going to take over'.But there are elements of fascism in the Republican party who are trying to set it up like that, and they're getting bigger. I mean it was kind of obvious when Trump removed net neutrality, or when he tried to force everyone to use ID at polling stations, with a shit ton of weird regulations like banning water stations in hot weather. It was like in Ukraine's Euromaiden; when the government started banning people from wearing helmets, to make it easier to club them, I guess, that shows the pattern: when the government starts making weird, punitive regulations that don't seem to be any use or sense, that's the point they're getting weird, paranoid, and authoritarian.I mean you got livid when it revealed Barack Obastard was spying onall your porn history but project 2025, abortion bans, and all that, isn't part of it? Does anyone pay attention? Like, really pay attention? And that goes for democrat voters too who think Biden's guys proposing and passing that decency act for the web last year, with help from the Republicans, are going to fight the fascist elements. They're not all working together, but they're all pushovers.Anyway vote Vermin Supreme.
/v/ joke but legendary comic delivery.

/co/ used to be good back when we could have intelligent and rational discussion about things that really mattered.
Predates /co/, still /co/ core screenshot.
>>144307107Most developed countries require ID to vote. There's no reason not to and it makes it possible to have a system in place that logs whether registered voters have actually turned up to their polling place, which makes it easier to remove the dead and erroneous entries from the voter rolls. What really is bordering on authoritarian is the blind reactionary response of some Republicans to force schools to directly embed their particular denomination of Christian philosophy in the curriculum as if "They're all the same anyway," on the assumption that having some underpaid teacher rush through it begrudgingly or a laminated sheet of paper with the ten commandments posted on a wall in the corner will undo some kind of brainwashing. It's not the state's job to teach that stuff, it's on the parents. No politician in America on either side actually fucking thinks about the specific consequences of the law they pass anymore. They pass law thinking it will only have the single specific effect they want. Ultimately, it's the fault of academics and progressives for taking an attitude of "This is what we're doing, nothing you believe in is good, and your influence over your life and family will be taken away for your beliefs." Doing that made conservatives paranoid and forced them into extreme beliefs and aggressive measures. 20 years ago, the mainstream of the party wouldn't have even entertained the idea of declaring America a "Christian country" or outright requiring the ten commandments in schools. The paranoid Trump sycophant political wing is a direct consequence of other people being smug assholes for two decades straight. They stopped explaining themselves and started acting like anyone who didn't get their position immediately was a willfully evil troglodyte.
