If the franchise has always been incredibly successful with kids, how come it was never as popular with older audiences as much as Shrek, Kung Fu Panda, and How to Train Your Dragon? Madagascar tends to be considered mainly for kids and while there are teens and adults who liked it when it came out, it was generally 7 year old kids who enjoyed the films and feel nostalgic about them years later

I respect the first movie. It has a completely different animation style than the previous movies by the PDI division (Antz, Shrek and Shrek 2)
