Watched the first episode (Renhattan). As someone who doesnt enjoy the original series at all, that was not bad. I like the flow better because it doesnt have John K's weird stilted timing. And the bugs were cute, they remind me of old Spongebob designs. The music sucks ass compared to the original though.

The original show and by extension APC were only possible because they were made at a time when companies didn’t really care about offending the audience. Bob Camp and Bill Wray were right to get pissed about not having more creative freedom. But it also shows that the industry is on its final legs. In the next 15 years or so. American cartoons will either be AI generated or just not exist at all. Anime has overtaken the medium in popularity amongst zoomers while Gen Alpha is too busy watching Elsagate-tier nonsense. The Games guys may not be as mentally insane as John was. But they tried their best to keep the show alive after Spumco got fired. They mattered a lot and Paramount ruined any chance of this thing succeeding by shafting them out in favor of guys who wrote for Colbert and that crummy Star Trek cartoon. All of the attention the second revival will get in the future is just vague footnotes. Even Adult Party Cartoon left more of a cultural impact by comparison.

it's a more autistic thing to nitpick about but i heavily dislike how limiting their APM music usage is, like the same handful of tracks keep getting spammed every episode. Looking through the Music Identification blog for the original show, they clearly took advantage of the vastness the APM catalog had to offer, seldom would you hear the same song literally every episode, aside from some standout ones like The March of the Ants. They also do not seem to be borrowing from the Capitol Records or OGM music libraries like the original show did, though in fairness APC had these exact same problems on top of schizophrenic music editing. Still just further creates this vibe of something trying to skinwalk as R&S while clearly failing
