Horned King might be one of the most underrated Disney villains ever. Probably the best character in the movie. Movie kind of can't decide between Gurgi and Hen Wen as the cute animal sidekick and so the focus is split. Fflewddur Fflam is also kind of boring and introduced to late to have an emotional connection. I think it's over-hated but it has merits worth watching

>>144625291It has a great art direction animation and atmosphere, The characters are fun, but the story kind becomes a wet fart by the end. Maybe it needed more time between the main characters meeting each other and then finding the Black Cauldron, also the climax of the story hinges on whatever or not you find the annoying comic relief dog endearing since he sacrifice his life to destroy the Cauldron and stop the badguy. Also the little goblin guy was a genuine psycho and is weird nothing happens to him at the end. I say he was more of an antagonist to the heroes that the Horned king himself. Overall I think is a good movie but not a "Disney Classic" like the ones in the 90s.
