whoops, forgot the trailer

Final Season?
how long was this show on?
>>
>>144632316
This is season 4
>>
>>144631894

I don't watch any Superman content that has Lois Lane in it.
>>
>>144631902
>Death of Superman

At least they're not pretending that's not where this is going. Though with the shortened episode count, it won't last too long anyway.
>>
This show's still going?
>>
>>144632548
It's not that old, and it had to compete with Gotham Knights to see which would get renewed.

I wish I could care. I've been watching this show from the start, but they keep going out of their way to shoot themselves in both feet with the writing and it's just not worth it anymore.

I always thought this Luthor choice was underwhelming. He reeks of low level minion/thug, not as stupid and ineffectual as say Henchmen from The Venture Brothers but definitely not someone who would be able to manage a serious attempt to go toe to toe with Superman, intellectually or otherwise.

>>144632541
>they're not pretending
>shortened episode count
It makes sense if they have a limited cast, and a limited budget, and shortened season, to do this. However, it leaves me even more uninterested and cold, especially now that I've seen this.

I don't have the nostalgia boner for this story arc the way so many Superman fans do, but I will say no one has really done in justice. I don't want a comic accurate telling but in two animated movies, including one that finally had a two-part running time, and a theatrical (even if butchered) movie version, they haven't done even a loose adaptation that felt conceptually worthy of the idea of Death of Superman.

The DCW Crisis crossover actually, just by touching on multiple dimension death's of AU Supermen, or the Smallville Season Eleven comics, which did a similar multiverse deaths of Supermen/Supermen Expy arc - even though both were brief - had far more heft and feels.

So this is it? The end of CW shit?
Not gonna lie, I'm gonna miss some of it.
>>
>>144633359
Which aspects will you miss?
>>
>>144633529
I will miss fight choreography of early Arrow or just early Arrow and Flash in general, some decent villain interpretations and the overall feel of schlocky 90s superhero live-action shows I used to watch as a kid.
There was a lot of shit, but I enjoyed the good parts.

>I don't have the nostalgia boner for this story arc the way so many Superman fans do

Does anyone really have a nostalgia boner for it anymore? It's a landmark story, but it's an event in the truest sense of the word. Every attempt to build off it, whether in the comics or via adaptations diluted its impact to the point it's become inconsequential yet somehow also mandatory.
>>
>>144631894
Wow, final? Were it's ratings bad or something? They kept Supergirl, Flash, and Arrow going way longer, even when they got shit. Superman & Lois has been generally decent all the way though.
>>
>>144633753
Superman and Lois is the last hold out of the CW era. It seems like DC wants to consolidate it's properties. Which is probably for the best
>>
>>144631894
Doomsday outliving Clark is a very cool and extremely idea I'm surprised hasn't been done before. The idea that the thing that killed Superman wasn't stopped just gives a sense of dread I rarely get from capeshit.
>>
>>144634809
An extremely dark idea I mean
>>
>>144634809
What would stop Doomsday from immediately wiping out everyone without Superman to stop him?
>>
>>144634971
I'm sure the writers will think of some excuse. The trailer seems to indicted he flew off world or something akin to that.
>>
>>144634995
>indicted
>Doomsday did everything right but Clark indicted him
>>
So did his sons turn out to be gay? I figured the younger one was low-functioning autistic.
>>
>>144635019
>Sleepy Clark! He's so sleepy!
>>
Fucking crime they didn't tie the Krypton show into this.
Tal Rho could have been the time displaced Jor-El.
>>
>>144635386
They were never going to wrap up Constantine's fuckery in Legends of Tomorrow, what makes you think they would do it with a SyFy DC show?
>>
>>144635386
I miss Tal Rho hope we see him in the final season
>>
>>144631894
Good riddance. After last season's constant misery porn, there's really no where else they can go. At least not with budget cuts and CW writers.
>>
>>144636225
Were you one of those defending Gotham Knights while season 3 of this was airing by chance?
>>
>>144631894
Gunned and Zaslaved
>>
>>144636322
Hell no. I always switched channels when they were airing back-to-back.
>>
>>144633753
CW is moving away from scripted dramas, ratings don't have any bearing since they even canceled Walker the highest rated show on the network
>>
>>144635085
They didn't even turn the canon gay Steel girl gay
>>
>>144631894
Wtf I thought this ended ages ago
>>
>>144633753
CW is going away from its normal programming.
They even canceled Waller Texas Ranger reboot
Superman and Lois was the last Arrowverse show.
>>
>>144633753
>>144637164
Yep, it's all penny pinching. Buying Canadian shows that already are produced and ran, or reality shows, or heavily subsidized golf from the Arabs (more profits!) is cheaper for the new owners.

>>144634385
>DC wants to consolidate it's properties
This is part of it, but they will likely offer to license all four seasons of this and the non-DCW shows they stuck on HBO Max to Netflix or elsewhere for the cash flow. And obviously, DISCO suits no longer want to spend money, so wouldn't save this to move it to HBO Max. Or even pay the kinds of money they paid to make the pilot episode look as good as it did for the CW.

>>144633675
Not as much as for the Donnerverse, true, but there are plenty of people here and elsewhere that do have a nostalgia boner for the Triangle Era and for post COIE interpretation from The Great Manâ„  - you see this in the adult swim/toonami threads on here and you see it on social elsewhere (twitter, YT, reddit).
