How come the Joe's comic is more fondly remembered than their cartoon, but vice-versa for every other 80's toy driven property?
>>144635492
>>144635501ROM is also fondly rememberedIn both cases it is because the writers took the job seriously, normally writers and artists looked down on writing toy tie in comics and it showed through in their work which quickly drove readers awayFor a while GI Joe was actually Marvels number #1 comic

in its own little way this was up there with DKR and Watchmen in evolving comicbook storytelling
>>144635501This comic is fucking amazing, that's why.
>>144635330I hate modern GI Joe because they don't put Scarlett in the leotard anymore.
>>144636057Seriously? When did they stop?
If only the action was better.
>>144635503LOL! DAT NIGGA DEAD!
Y'know, this issue, since it's basically just one long fight scene, could also be considered one of the best fight scenes ever in American comics.
meh
Thanks, OP.
Sucked.
>>144635311good thread
>>144636261I don't know when they stopped doing it, but if you look at any modern run of GI Joe (including the Hama one that's meant to be a direct continuation of this), Scarlett never wears the full orange leotard. At most she wears the top half but the bottom half is purple pants. Sometimes she wears it in the cover, but never in the interior pages.
>>144637075And it's not that great.
