Some of the most interesting ones in the series. Kid-friendly Falling Down.

The sequel was fine, but gets almost entirely carried by the wife being so domineering about it. The original, in isolation, is one of the high points of the series. It's a lot like Joker's Favor in B:TAS, where a simple man with a straight-forward plan comes off as a legitimate threat in an otherwise fantastic world.

Me and my sisters growing up loved it. I was pretty surprised to see that people disliked this episode.

I guess its kinda like the Frank Grimes episode of Powerpuff Girls.
>>
>>144638810
People dislike this episode? it's one of the more memorable ones and honestly always felt bad for the guy. Only once I started working did I get him a bit more but still a fun ep.

He's a fool though for abandoning his loving family well besides the boy kek.

It's cool to look back on Powerpuff Girls and see how much of a product of its time it was. Sure the overall aesthetic was inspired by '60s cartoons and anime, but then you'll get the odd reference to something specifically '90s.
>>
>>144638810
I don't know why, but I always remember not liking this episode as a kid. I mean I enjoy it now, but I don't remember what it was as a kid that I hated about it back then.

>>
>>144643086
Seriously though how is it mean spirited in any way?
>>
>>144642995
What's funny is that the show being such a 60s throwback with anime influences is extremely 90s itself, given the beginning of the anime boom during that time and huge wave of 60s nostalgia that was occurring then.

We need more supervillains whose origin story is a Mid-Life Crisis
>>
>>144638810
Supper Villain is great but it didn't really need a follow up.

PAAAAAANCAAAAAAKES
>>
Is just me or the joke on the second episode was that the entire family became more "functional" by all becoming super vilains?
>>
>>144638810
I love stories about some average joe getting sick of everyday life and deciding to force their way into excitement.

Any good recommendations of more like this?

I genuinely felt bad for Harold Smith when he got out of prison which made his recidivism even funnier. Also, him not getting a new villain costume was funny too.

Why did I think she was talking to the Kanker sisters, and was somehow being contrived to be their absent mother before like the 3rd readover.

The political episodes of this show aged really well.
>>
>>144648775
This is the case with a lot of 90s/early 2000s shows, living situations that were considered undesirable back then are now a dream to slowly work towards. I get the same feeling watching Mission Hill, they're supposed to be kind of fuckups, but they live together as best friends in this giant fucking multiple-bedroom apartment with strong ties to their neighbors and general surrounding community. Sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me.
>>
>>144648792
I never liked this episode it seemed out of character for the ppgs to do things like not throw her in prison because she complained that girls were underrepresented in the villain department.
>>
>>144641510
This scene made me extremely uncomfortable as a kid.
