Long live the new queens on the throne!

i fart on your highest grossing animated film

How?

Originally is dead. Slop forever…

One:Inflation

Where's the cultural relevance tho?

Why is this happening?
>>
>>144639379
>>144639609
Ticket prices have exploded in only the last year or two. A standard 2D opening weekend ticket to this cost me $17. Reports say the average price for 2024 is $10.78. I call bullshit, did anybody who saw this in theaters pay anywhere close to that?
>>
>>144639789
Do you not watch matinees?
>>
>>144639352
I just don't get it.
>>
>>144639815
I do, just not for this one because I was with a group. Matinees for new releases at the big chains usually go for $12 now, you have to go to a smaller chain to find cheaper prices. Also, ever since The Batman two years ago, theaters have been experimenting with a pricing spectrum based on popularity (if you don’t believe me, check how much a ticket for the new Deadpool is going for at the same time as a completely different movie).
>>
>>144639542
Even though I thought it was a fine movie I would never predict would be this successful, the realistic depiction of a panic attack meme now lasting forever is hilarious.
>>
>>144639848
Nothing else too see
Movie for families instead of faggot filth
White protagonist
>>
>>144639848
It's not really praise related to the movie itself. Records like that get broken all the time because the cost of the tickets are more than when the last film that "won" that title won it.
>>
>>144639379
>Inflation (Frozen's (2013) 1.3 Billion are worth more than Inside Out 2's (2024) 1.4-1.5 Billion)
>High ticket prices
>Nostalgia for a 9 year old movie before Disney's brand became toxic
>Right time and place at beginning of Summer & only movie that is serious competition (Despicable Me 4) didn't come out until 1 month later
>Since its a sequel to a pre-Jennifer Lee Disney Movie designs are not ugly
>Only 'real' controversy was "Free Palestine" schizos being mad Disney donated money to modern Israel and calling for a boycott
>>
>>144639360
Imagine if the noxious odor found its way to Joys nostrils, wouldn't that be so embarrassing? haha
>>
>>144639941
I don't know, AMC here's doing it for 9 plus tax, and while I'm not on a coast I don't live in a bad area. If you mean fee wise (because I think they don't count the fees in ticket sale price), there's danegeld you can pay in the cheaper memberships, but shitty ripoff price gouging is a structural part of the modern digital economy that needs corporate and government action to rectify.
>>
>>144639352
Honestly? I don't give a shit.
But I do find suspicious that there's always a new "highest-grossing movie of all time" every few weeks and how most of them are Disney-related.
>>
>>144640296
Good for you, maybe my city is just on the higher end. Even still, have you noticed your prices going up compared to pre-covid?

I like going to the movie theaters.
Is that so wrong?
>>
>>144640494
Of course not. It’s a movie people wanted to see. I question its quality after having seen it.
>>
>>144640422
Oh, certainly, but that's across the economy. They know they can keep raising prices, so they do. The only places safe are shitholes like Kokomo, IN, which apparently has Inside Out on matinee for 7 bucks.

They don't get it, though. The moment things become truly unaffordable and we click back into plurality pirates under 50, their whole game collapses.
>>
>>144640488
What would the “Lightyear” version of other Pixar films be? Tangential to the franchise but so removed from what people like about it that they stay away. It’s fun to imagine.

Inside Out except its emotions in the head of an adult who’s just filing taxes.

Inflated as fuck box office. I can believe it did well, but this? Nah, Bob Iger and the rest of the current Disney heads are terrified of an investor takeover led by Ike Perlmutter and are paying pajeets to buy tickets like crazy
>>
>>144641467
Pretty sure that method was patched after Captain Marvel with how badly The Marvels flopped.
>>
>>144642340
Everyone aside from culture war schizos knows Captain Marvel made money because it was promoted as "you must see this before Endgame" at a time when almost every Marvel movie made about 1 Billion at the Box office on average.
>>
Oh nice the conspiracy schizos are here
>>
>>144639789
Tuesdays are $5 day at Cinemark.
>>
It was good. Original was 8/10, sequel is 7/10

Only good thing is riley porn
>>
Snow White did $1,546,602,945 as of November 2021 VS. $1,462,720,838 of Inside Out 2 (2024), I think it did quite good in comparison.
>>
>>144643162
I forgot to add, this is adjusted to inflation of course.
