After a long time not watching Helluva Boss, I decided to revisit it, I continued where I left off. Is it me or did something change towards a very weird direction in season 2? What's with all the demons being lovey dovey with each other and giving good advice? I thought they were evil? They just seem more like normal people who look different and have issues than being all the troubled treacherous souls of earth.I remember the Pilot (Hazbin Hotel) and the tone of the show and this hell world, it's interesting and kinda disappointing to see how this idea evolved.Also very stoned.

A lot of potential nuance was killed and buried, the world was not expanded upon in any interesting way and at this point this series may as well not take place in Hell. Granted a lot of those issues already existed in Season 1, but there was a chance to stir the direction into something better and there was some potential as we saw with Ozzie's, but Season 2 pretty much killed any chance for this series to be unique and at this point this setting being Hell and it's characters being Demons is a redundant detail that has little to no bearing on the plot and world building is not only non existent, but it's all very boring as well. There is nothing interesting or inventive about this version of Hell. I genuinely wanted to start liking this series again, but the latest episode just made me realize how much I do not care anymore. This whole Stolitz plot is so boring and generic and so badly written. And it's so fucking sad that THIS is the main plot of this show that takes place on 9 rings of Hell with main characters being part of demonic assassin group. This is genuinely awful.

All Vivziepop writing is just a vehicle for her shitty musical numbers bitching at someone or proclaiming their undying love and loyalty. Throw in the melodrama of a telenova dressed in 2000s era Hot-Top Deviantart OCs. They lampshade this in their show frequently.Vivzie only knows how to engage her audience by extremes, so subtly,nuance, world-building, character-arcs get thrown out the window to bum-rush to the shipping and drama.It's not unlike other shows where writers are jerking themselves off with one hand and writing with the other, Vivzie just has an air of bpd-mean-girl baked into her shows.
