What went right?
Rewatched it the other day and it 100% holds up. Just as good as I remember it being as a kid, it might even be my favorite Pixar movie. Top 3 easily.

Only Pixar movie with an idea by Jan Pinkava. It's true that Brad Bird later replaced him as director, but the idea came from Pinkava.

Pixar movie, not a brad bird movie
>High concept crap, a standard for pixar
>Characters are just lame
It's a 5/10 Bird movie because he still manages to give more to the movie at least visually and a 6/10 pixar, not that it's a low score for pixar's average 6.5/10. Their best movie is still the incredible 8/10 but it's a Brad Bird movie.
