Welcome to the TENTH year of the Weekend of Pain!Today we'll be showing what happens when you get your son with no previous writing experience to write a comic with your name on it and having the art done by an art team that really wish they were working on a real Spider-Man book instead. This is Spider-Man: Bloodline by J.J. and Henry Abrams.
As usual, bump if you are reading.
>>144667124Ah yes. The Nepotism book.
ouch
This was such a letdown. Which is sad because I liked the art. But man was it a jumbled mess. The villain was especially lame.
>>144667165The book goes downhill from here
Because I am storytiming the TPB edition, we'd be missing out on this section from the floppies. So I've also added those here (even if they are like 3 pages).
>>144667272Nick Lowe is a idiot.
>>144667287I like shitty dad Peter.
>>144667272Who is worse: Lowe or Wacker?
>>144667457>>144667476Why is Tony and Riri in this?
>>144667157oh hey, a cool design but really not the guy who shoulda killed Spidey's career and wife when many more established villains would been more suiting/fitting for the role.....actually where are any of his villains in this entire story?
For those that weren't around when this was being published, the last two issues of this mini were getting constantly pushed back until the pandemic happened. So this ended with there being a 280 days gap between issues #3 and #4.
>>144667528That is crazy
>>144667543wow, literally brought back from the dead and is still ungrateful...pssst, wahmin ammaroight
>>144667528That’s nothing compared to Ultimate Wolverine vs Hulk. There was an full 3 year gap between issues 2 and 3.That was written Damon Lindelof, one of Abrams associates, funny enough.
>>144667745he didn't even get to have sex with his wife in her monstrous form, baka
Thank you for tuning in for this storytime of pain. Join us in a few moments as we tackle on another bad comic together.
>>144667805This was bad
>>144667124Remember when the teaser image for this had everyone believe that it was for some kind of continuation of the Raimi movies? Why did they start a countdown at 4?
>>144667967No way. It’s totally a greatly written comic which Marvel chose to publish because it’s so well written and only because of that. Totally.
>>144667420I'm inclined to say Lowe but that could be recency bias
>>144667124Finally a REAL SoP
>>144667523>killed Spidey's career and wifeHe didn't do just that, this thing killed almost EVERY hero and the careers of the surviving ones despite being a literally who. Then just fucks off forever and the world keeps trucking on for twelve years so apparently none of the villains capitalized on this
>>144667997The Spider office fucking hates it's fans
Marvel not wasting Sara's art on the absolute most dogshit comics imaginable challenge [IMPOSSIBLE]
>>144668666
>>144668419This is a common problem with "bad" futures in comics, they don't consider what the actual consequences of all the heroes dying would be. Even if we leave aside that crime and villains should be running rampant, now what's to stop Galactus/Terminus/Thanos/Annihilus/Dormammu/etc. from just destroying the Earth entirely?
>>144667506Tony is here because JJ Abrams' son wanted him to be there because he likes Iron Man in the movies. Riri is there because Marvel editorial probably told him to replace whatever OC he had in mind with Riri.
>>144667124>>144667132Interesting how for the collected edition they added the "Bloodline" subtitle even though the floppies were just called "Spider-Man" out of sheer fucking hubris.
Oh man, killer choice for SoP.
>>144667791I liked this comic, and I would have liked to see what would happen next after this.
